Just a rhetorical question, as I am more of an agnostic rather than being a hardcore atheist.

 

Is there a translated scripture in readable language that Buddha says whatever often quoted attributed to him?

 

Like Dao De Jing, its also in readable language, but an archaic form that makes understanding it difficult, and often the interpretation may not be what the author originally intends
