Weewee1976 : Thank you for the reply.

Any advise what I should watch out for when collecting the car?

I realised the SE had given me the wrong IU number.

So please check again.

Also ask the SE to book for you the 1K servicing date. (sorry, I am very kiasu)

Remember to terminate your existing insurance, if you had one.

and of course, buy 4D !

Enjoy your ride.

I was asking up and down on this... was told by the Service guy Mz5 does not have the alarm installed. Only Mz3 and 6, and sounded very soft. The immobiliser It only prevent the engine from starting it.

TLW (their after marker installer) quoted $400 to have that alarm installed.

Obviously the SA doesn't know M5 well. Even my SE told me got factory alarm and handed me an alarm decal for me to paste on the car. Try the method I listed and you should be able to activate the alarm. The stock horn is loud.

My HU sometimes cannot detect the GPS software (i believe reside in the SD card).

I wonder and other member facing similar issue?

Any solution/suggestion?

Happened to mine recently. Mine was problem detecting NavIQ_TLW_2_HD.exe. I copied out the whole contents of the SD card, then copy back that affected file and now it seems ok already. Find it strange too.

Based on my experience, Japanese tyres like Yokohama Advan DB are quieter compared to continental brands. I regretted listening to the tyre shop guy and not getting Japanese tyres instead, but they didn't carry Yokohama anyway so it would have been very troublesome to get tyres from another shop. I also heard from a friend after I bought these tyres that he has had Continental CSC5 tyres blow out on him twice! I've also heard good things about Korean brands like Hankook and Kumho, although they don't last as long but their price difference is quite substantial.

Bros, theres a tyre shop quoted me $700 for a set if original mazda 6 rims 17" + 225 45 17 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 after trading my stock 16" rims + fresh Toyo. Is it a ok deal? TIA

Hi weewee1976,

How do you activate the alarm? Can't seem to find your method listed.

Thank you.

Stay in the car after engine is off. Lock using remote. Wait for the flashing red key icon on your odometer to stabilise and unlock from inside the car via the door lock and the horn will sound. To "unhorn" it, simply use the remote to unlock the car.

Or how the map can be updated?

It's at the fuse compartment, near the glove compartment.

My GPS module is double-sided at the wall of the fuse box. SD card is inserted at one side of the GPS module.

It is not a bad deal, do you like 18" ? I trade mine with Mazda 6 18" rims + Thai tyres Thunderer 225 40 18 in Malaysia for RM1800 1 year ago......

Mine's just above the glove compartment and the SD card slot facing inwards. Got to tear out the whole glove compartment and reposition it such that SD card is easier to retrieve.

Hi, does it mean after this, the alarm will sound whenever we lock and unlock the car?

Thank you so much again!

Nope. It will not.

I checked with another aftermarket vendor.

Told me New Mazda car electrical components are sensitive and complicated.

And advise me to leave it as it is, so not to void the warranty.

And the one to work with the current remote, can cost around $400.

Any Bro out there managed to update the map?

I was told by Galactio Support to go back TLW for updates.

A bit puzzle why we cannot do it ourselves, like those off-the-shelf navigators...

Bro, follow the instructions here to register your device:

http://nav.galactio.com/pnd_device_check

So far no software and map updates available.

For the Malfreemaps, you may download the latest from here:

http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewforum.php?f=47

However, so far latest is in Sep 2015, which mine is already Sep 2015 maps.

If you're the adventurous or DIY type, you may follow this video for instructions on how to tear apart the glove compartment:

If you're not confident, better to seek professional help.
