Erictl76 1st Gear December 23, 2015 Share December 23, 2015 Bro, follow the instructions here to register your device: http://nav.galactio.com/pnd_device_check So far no software and map updates available. For the Malfreemaps, you may download the latest from here: http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewforum.php?f=47 However, so far latest is in Sep 2015, which mine is already Sep 2015 maps. If you're the adventurous or DIY type, you may follow this video for instructions on how to tear apart the glove compartment: https://youtu.be/ejCV45Cyf4E If you're not confident, better to seek professional help. I think one maybe able to access the GPS module just from the fuse box compartment. At least I know mine can be accessed from there. It maybe they never stick it probably though.. lol ↡ Advertisement

So might really need to take the whole module like what Weewee1976 said before you can take out the SD card? Unless it's a different model. My device model is TLW-LLT6507. Enegue_aol 1st Gear December 24, 2015 Share December 24, 2015 Seems like the mazda 5 gps is pretty cocked up. On my 5k servicing, told them software error n repaired. Erwinseow Neutral Newbie December 24, 2015 Share December 24, 2015 For those of u who just collected your M5 and are having GPS SW problem... Go back to Mazda service ctr for solution. The most likely issue is that the SD card is not the correct rated speed. I think you need a Class 10. Mine was fixed by just changing the card. The SD card slot is kind of 'sealed' up by the "scotch tape" on my module. Guess, that's why you can't 'feel' the slot. Seems like the mazda 5 gps is pretty cocked up. On my 5k servicing, told them software error n repaired. Now at 8k mark, problem comes back. On n off u able to detect software. Wtf The GPS module is added by the Mazda's vendor..... I called Pioneer support line previously, they were surprised when I said "the GPS software...blah blah blah..." the immediate answer from CSO was "the model you're having doesn't have GPS module built-in. It must be 3rd party module that the installer added in....blah blah blah...." I guess it maybe either the GPS module problem, the GPS software compatibility with X2750BT, or both. Not sure those owner who upgraded to X5750/X8750 experienced the similar problem?

Mine wasn't sealed up but was facing the inner wall such that it's almost impossible to eject the SD card out without taking out the module. I'm using X8750 with the module and no issue so far except for the small issue of a file not being detected. After re-copying back the file (I made a copy of the whole SD card prior to that), there's no issue so far. It's true that Pioneer Singapore doesn't have any navigation module available. All those GPS modules that're connected to Pioneer HUs are 3rd party modules.

I had a look at it but couldnt find it. I think all the GPS module should be same as it is install by the same installer.

I think all the GPS module should be same as it is install by the same installer.I finally found it. For the module, open the glove compartment and just reach up into area above the glove compartment. You will feel a small box. U can use a torch to try and see. Then you just touch around until you feel something that feels like a slot. At first, I thought it was a USB port. Then I pushed it, and realised that it's a SD card! 4Gb class 4. I copied the contents to a new SD card, but when I put it into the car, it says that it is not activated and asked me to download an activation file from Galactio. Shall try to complete it tonight. And I'll try to take some photos to show the postion.
Clldavid 1st Gear December 26, 2015 Share December 26, 2015 Hi bros, I got some (hopefully) good photos of the GPS module here. First, if you bend down from outside the car on the passenger's side and look into the glove compartment, you will be able to see two "shelvings". Right above the "shelving" on the left side, there is a hole. You can reach into the hole and into above the glove compartment to feel the GPS module. I realised that you can see better if you put your HP on the "shelving" and switch on your HP torch. Notice from this second pic that the SD card slot (I took out the SD card in this photo already) is flush with the module. In other words, do not try to find anything that is sticking out or has a notch like some other SD card slots. You will just feel a slot, and you just push against the SD card to eject it. Just be careful not to let it spring out too much and fly off. Same thing when you put it back in. Question for those who changed to another SD card. Did you have to download an "Activation file" from Galactio website? I downloaded it, put it in the new SD card in the NAVIQ folder, but the device still tells me that I need an activation license. The original SD card is OK...

Erictl76 1st Gear December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 Happened to mine recently. Mine was problem detecting NavIQ_TLW_2_HD.exe. I copied out the whole contents of the SD card, then copy back that affected file and now it seems ok already. Find it strange too. I'd tried your method today to copied out the whole contents and then copy back to the same SD card. It seems working fine for today. I suspect we may need to get a better grade (Ultra) of SD card, maybe due to the temperature too hot. Similar things (cannot detect SD card once in awhile) happened to my camera before, and once i changed to the Ultra SD card, problem goes away. Why need to display there when the HU's display is much nicer? I asked Mazda service , Mazda 5 has no alarm & if want to install & worry for warranty void . Service advisor say it is not easy to break in unless y break glass . As I mentioned previously, the so-called alarm will be activated if there's a forced entry. The horn will sound. So drive down and tell them to repair it. I see above instructions which is totally complicated for a noob like me. First place should not be spoiling so frequently. Anyway if you go down and fix your gps, be prepared for a full day wait. Apparently they will get the vendor down to fix it. I buay Han. So drive down and tell them to repair it. With steam 6-7 days pump once. With Mazda 5-6 days pump once. That's my personal experience. ↡ Advertisement
