Neutral Newbie

And 7 of them are registered in the month of Oct. Quite a big jump in number considering there are none registered from June to Aug. If you search for the omv of the cars registered in Oct, seems like all 7 of them are FWD model.

Looking at it from another angle, I think the pricing from C&C KIA is fair, many cars with similar OMV were selling at higher price, and some even 50K on top.

yup, look at odyssey and you get the pix...

In that case, the Korean manufacturers have become uncompetitive by allowing the Japanese manufacturers to produce cars at lower costs. Never imagined this would happen 10 years ago. Sales of Hyundai and Kias have been declining and will decline further.

Has any 2.2Crdi Sorento owners installed a tune up chip?

Racechip for eg..

http://m.racechip.com/chiptuning/kia/sorento/sorento-xm/2-2-crdi-145kw/index.php

Able to bring hp to 185kw and torque to 512nm

My car(bmw 316i) is also fitted with a chip and i can say the chip really makes driving even more enjoyable..definitely not those snake oil products.

Tempted to. But not realli necessary as the 2.2 CRDi oredi has lots of grunt and torque.  [drivingcar]

Am on the previous Sorento, 2013 model, driving the 2.2 CDRI model. My first diesel, no regrets, will probably get another diesel in future. Bullet proof engine, powerful spirited ride when needed, very refined ride with quality materials especially in the new model.

Cheers!

Read your 80k mileage review. hope the current model can also give up to 750km per tank like yours did :)

  1. Have been driving the new Sorento 2.4 petro for about 6 weeks. Build quality almost comparable to a Lexus and about the same as my Merc.  Solid feeling car though as solid as a Merc.  Getting about 750km per tank..about $100 for 92.  Not bad.  Road noise intrusion is not as good as expected at above 80km/h.. In many other markets, the Rover Sport 7 seaters is about the same price and a lot less reliable.  About 120k more in SG..just incredible.  The Audi Q7 is about a bit more as well. Here in SG is 2x more.  So Sorento is really value for $$..

wow...750km for a full tank on petrol....really....hmmm...i can only get about 400 - 450km before the light comes on.

I was one of the first few to get the Sorento in march....yes I agree it is comparable if not better to the conti SUVs....less body roll too for the back seat passengers on the sorento.

Cheers

Wow... when I pumped full tank, the display only shows 600km that the car can travel. How did you do it? I am driving the ex model. My average consumption is only about 8.5 km per litre.

Hmm..mine is a SX version.  I thought it is the petrol grade. Tried 98.  same result. The fuel usage meter reads average about 11+km/h..Thought could be calibration.  Much mileage meter matched. Diff due to Ex and SX model??

Mine is SX model....There is no difference on petrol consumption between EX and SX.

The only thing I can think of is that you are driving in Eco mode.

For me I drive in Normal and Sports modes.

Cheers.
