Vegas Turbocharged February 15, 2015 Author Share February 15, 2015 i tot pool played well moving forward.... but JA was a waste of headcount in the Liverpool MF Seriously every time Palace counter, without Lucas, we are exposed. JA does not even occupy the space that is suppose to block off palace counter, does not contribute to anything to the attack....
Bismarck Turbocharged February 15, 2015 Share February 15, 2015 What I like is ballotelli is trying to play the ball a bit faster, doesn't hold on to the ball for too long and in tune with the flow of the team. And of course he smiles. I thought that was a sign that liverpool can be his home, a club that he finally feels comfortable with. Allen definitely cannot play the Lucas role. That I will leave it to Can but he seems more like a box to box midfielder than a truly defensive midfielder. Still I will put him just in front of the defence followed by allen(if there is no better midfielder) and Henderson slightly in front just between the line of the attacking midfielders and Allen. Allen just run around do the chasing harassing and pressing hahaha.

JA does not even occupy the space that is suppose to block off palace counter, does not contribute to anything to the attack.... I think JA's presence in the liverpool senior team is due to these few reasons: 1. The club's attempt to make a profit out of Injury Prone Lucas while he is still wanted by other clubs 2. Cover for SG and LL 3. No suitable back up from the youth ranks... yet... so far promising players are all creative or attacking player.... 4. who else wanna buy JA?

If you look at the photo at http://www.espnfc.com/english-fa-cup/40/blog/post/2298942/liverpool-keep-fa-cup-hopes-alive-by-edging-bogey-team-crystal-palace of Moreno dancing alongside Sturridge, you might like me be wondering (disclaimer, I'm not gay) how come moreno's shorts looks strangely not normal…
Atrecord Supersonic February 16, 2015 Share February 16, 2015 A vital win :) A huge step to FA Cup final :)) Am I the only one to say that we have made a huge U-turn in our performance results? :)) We are grinding out results !! YES !!! Yes, it does seem like we have turned a corner, and is playing better football and getting results. But it is not all rosy. Ideally our defense should be even more imperious - at the moment there are still times when 3 of them take turns to make mistakes that reliable defenders must avoid. Strikers make one mistake, they might just miss the goal. Defenders make one mistake, they might just let opponents score… Luckily we were not always punished against palace. At least goalie seems fault-free that night. The biggest blow now is Lucas is injured (sigh… again) just as he - and the team - found form. His contribution is very important. No like for like replacement, and it tells. Allen too lightweight and positioning still no where near. Moreno seems to be very restricted in his positioning/movement, and we are not able to exploit the left flank using the left wing back much. Of the attacking and creative players, it's good that most of them seems to be hitting form too, but of course the imperfection is that there is no one standout guy that can do no (hardly any) wrong like last season With all of them showing flashes of brilliance now and then, the good thing is we seem to have many options now, but the bad thing (linked to para above), is that there doesn't seem to be one obvious standout first team. Sturridge, Balo, Sterling, Ibe, Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic, Hendo, Moreno, Johnson, etc. will all be fighting for 7 places. Even Lambert and Borini had shown some hopes 1-2 mth ago, and if add Flano, SG in, then lagi difficult to choose. This compares sharply to the Oct-Nov period, where no matter what option we chose, we simply don't look like we won't lose a match... If Coutinho can be more accurate in his shooting, i'm sure he will win us many points. Now 50% of his shots are straight at keepers, 40% off target, with maybe 10% placed well, but good chance blocked by defense. He does create lots of openings for himself, so if can convert more of them, it's going to be immense. When Coutinho is off-form, nobody else comes close in terms of creativity. When teams park buses, we don't have too many players who hold keys to unlocking them. Lallana and Sterling, now Ibe, maybe can share some load, but it's still heavily dependent on Coutinho. With more teams recognizing this and closing him down, the rest really need to stand up and be counted more. Dead ball: while SG now has maybe only 70% of his previous speed, and stamina 50%, distance covered 40%, shooting 50%, tackling, 40%, etc… there is noone else in the team who can take a corner or free kick decently… And of course we haven't been tested when it comes to penalty awarded without SG on the field… If nothing else, if we get a last-min penalty while being a goal down, chances of SG getting it in is quite high. This is the only one thing that he has perhaps improved from the time when he was younger. His calmness helps. Then the last thing is … height lor. Again I saw Allen marking someone who is one head taller than him during corners…
Jamesc Hypersonic February 16, 2015 Share February 16, 2015 All our new boys are coming good. we just need Lovren to up his game. This just shows there is no point criticizing new players before they can adept. Remember when Henderson first came and people said he was a waste of money. Remember Lucas and people said he was not a :Liverpool player. I just hope people can learn from this and give any new signings a chance to get use to the way Liverpool play and for foreign player learn a new language and get used to life in England.
