Even for higher end builds I also spend the least on the case. Only spend more for the case if still within budget after getting all the desired parts. Nowadays even the cheap cases also not too bad already.

I am using this case DIYPC FM08-Blue2 Black Computer Case. IIRC around $50 only.

If you do not have problem with heating. of course you wont need to get a good casing. Anyway, not necessary for gaming casing too. just need a full tower if facing heating problem often.

BTW a good casing can be recycle so its doesn't really cost a lot if you consider that you can used it for another 20 years?

Ha like I said. Every part had been swapped out over a course of 2 to 3 years.

Psu is a seasonic. Last one should be some cm one.

After few months sure got some failure to boot or shutdown or reboot after boot up.

Software issue la. My wife also likes to click on some rubbish pop-ups and has all sorts of spyware installed.

I am currently looking for gaming desktop but not alienware? Thinking of getting at sim lim square for those custom made in the shop. Any bro got any good recommendation which shop do good gaming desktop?

Get it built at sim lim sq lor at Fuwell, Cashtronic or PC Themes. Get a decent i7 processor and a solid graphics card, at least a GTX760. RAM at least 16GB, best to go for 32GB. SSD no less than 256GB.

This config can last a long time already. And got extra budget should also invest in a good cooling system. Make sure the CPU casing not too small for good ventilation.

Yeah, he got very good after sales service also. I've built 2 desktops from him in the past 4years.

Actually, I've never built anything with him before as I always prefer to buy my own parts and DIY.

But I've purchased some other misc components from him before and he seems reliable.

Of course, his feedback on HWZ has been generally good so far so I would recommend him for someone who doesn't know how to DIY and wants to avoid the hassle of going down to SLS (and trying not to get cheated).

For me 1-2TB fills up quite fast leh. Even my kids movies and shows already used up one of my 1TB HDD. I normally store all the shows on my computer then stream it to the TV.

I try not to store so many old movies, tv serials and anime anymore. Realised no time to watch and also won't really rewatch other than a select few.

i got a 2 bay - 3TB mirroring each other.

got some other assorted drives here n there.

Good thing is storage is always getting cheaper.
