I bought my E250 in 2010 only 188k. C&C also take in my camry at high price, same as sgcarmart ad price. That time coe about 30k if i remember correctly

Happy with my E250 Elegance bought early 2015.

 

What's good ? Fuel economy, enough torque to be nippy, quiet cruising, good road holding and brakes despite comfort biased tyres supplied, relatively low insurance, easy to book servicing at Pandan.

 

What's not so good? People wave at me (taxi), insipid sound track, rolls too much under hard cornering and mediocre sound system.

 

Once 3-year warranty over, in will go sports tyres, Bilstein or KW coilovers and an exhaust system

I feel that the margin for CNC is still high considering that the e class is still a very old model after all

I went to test drive the Edition E.  Very nice. Fully loaded with goodies and lots of features. The AMG sports styling package, sunroof, electronic safety features and other add-ons increases the appeal for this car. These extras as standard equipment would translate to extra $ worth too.  Although this is an outgoing model and C&C is clearing stocks, the very high overtrade $ quantum that C&C is throwing in is enticing and seals the deal as witnessed by the huge crowds at C&C over the past week.

are the three items, sunroof, 360 camera and lane keeping assist now part of the Edition E? i recall that those are optional options add on the edition E. 

 

According to my SE, these 3 items are part of the deal.  Do you have the details of the previous `Edition E'?  Did they list the option price for these 3 items? 

 

I do think it's quite feature pack already.  Maybe only Command Navigation is the only option item I might consider.  But then they will have to indent the car and will not offer so high for my trade-in.  Thus I suspect the good offers are for ex-stocks.

sunroof and lane keeping assist is not necessary to have in sg. 360 cam is good though

 

 

why not consider F10 which is more sophisticated than W212? I think F10 priced around 220k. FYI i do own W212 E250 and E200 before and currently drives F10. What I like about W212 is better reliability and better space for rear passenger. Other than that, F10 is better such as handling, technology, interior and exterior look (personal opinion), more efficient and driver area footwell more spacious

but if u want easy then go for W212 as C&C offers higher trade value. if wanna get F10 then its better to sell ur own car to fetch higher value

 

Previously i was driving the W211 E200 Elegance and Avantgarde model.  Then I switch to E60 525 for the last 6 years.  Overall, the drive of the 525 is superior to the E200 both in terms of refinement and drive.  However, the quality of the Beemer kinda annoys me.  Every now and then, small niggles will appear like recently the front fog lamp warning light came on and it's not due to the failure of the fog lamp but the light control module.  To fix that, it costs $900 and PML advisor advice me to just ignore it.  So now everymorning when I start the car, there is the warning light failure message.

 

Next, when it comes to battery changing.  Apparently it's some kind of intelligent battery....whatever that means.  So I can't just get any workshop to change it as it's necessary to reset the ECU.  Maybe I'm ignorant but I did not have to do that in my W211.

 

So all in all, i seem to visit the work shop more frequently while driving the 525 then both the E200.  But then again, the 525 might just be more mordern with more high tech gadgets.

 

Indeed, looks peference is very individual.  I hated the pre-FL W212 with the ponton rear. And when the F10 came out, I thot it was a beauty.  But with the Avantgarde treatment, I think completely changes the W212 looks.

 

Finally, I guess I'm an Ah Pek at heart.  I think I enjoy the comfort of the E more than the 525...

Yea Its expensive to repair but if i were u i will go outside workshop and quoted price will be almost half. PML is just a lazy bunch of technicians that will only replace even small part faulty. Outside workshop has more competent technicians than pml. After sales service wise, c&c better though they charge the price almost the same.

 

 

Bmw batt use varta agm which is ex but last longer than average batt. Then for bmw normally just reset the code or clear the fault than the warning prob will be gone.

 

 

No worries, both cars are great and u wont go wrong with buying one of these two model. Both has good resale value and after 3 yrs, u can go outside workshop since alot of them can service these models

As a result the FC is better than the previous engine and even same engine in E200 guise. I use RON95, and can easily get 10km/l in town driving. With a mix of city and highway, 12.5 km/l is the average. In mainly highway cruising, I have achieved 14+ km/l.

 

Very happy with my fuel cost, after coming from a 2.0 Scooby LGT that was guzzling RON98 at a rate of 7.5km/l despite a light right foot.

Merc command system is nice but at such price and also small screen. The color is not as attractive as idrive and most of the command features are available in idrive too.
