2015 Mazda CX3

how is this car generally? kinda tempted due to the 2 litre engine which will give it a responsive drive.

It depends on what you look for in a car.

82K is 2nd hand which probably means it's 2018 or 2017 version.

Some things missing will be the electronic handbrake and auto hold function.

If engine power is what entices you, likely the drive is a factor.

Consider that mazda 2 and 3 will be a much better drive due to the body form. Even though mazda 2 is smaller cc, it is like to perform better than cx 3. This is from personal experience.

Cabin size feels a lot different even though it's suppose to be same platform.

Driver and front passanger is very comfortable.

I use to be able to touch my head to ceiling if i try but not able to now.

Seat space is wider, ceiling is higher, feet to pedal is further.

I have no idea how they increase inner space even though it's built on mazda 2.

Tldr:

Get it if you want

height.

Fair comfort. Mazda 3 should be on par.

Avoid if you

really want a great drive. Cx3 is good but mazda 2 and 3 is better.

Utility, it's a fake SUV.

It's quite cramped for people taller than 1.75m.

I'm 1.8 and feels good as driver.

Rear sure problem. But thankfully I'm driver and I don't care about the rear. :)

Don't really agree with this statement since the engine cap/power is so much better in the CX-3.

In terms of handling responsiveness, the mazda 2 should be more nimble because of it's size.

I ever drove the mazda2/3 and found the drive to be really sluggish.

Mazda will lose in power for sure as it is numbers. But overall handling and pick will be on par or better.

Due to weight, size as well as ground clearance.

Which is why i asked if what is it he really wants. If he just likes the number 2000 cc, :)

But mazda 3 has 2000 cc option so comparing mazda 3 and cx 3, mazda 3 will handle better and have the same power (cc) which will mean better results due to being lighter and more ground hugging.

My opinion is from personal experience. My 2015 mazda 2 drives better than my 2019 cx 3. Pick up is better as well although it could be just feeling and figures are not as good.

Mazda is good to drive but really not the top of the game in raw power.

Based on Mazda spec sheet.

0 to 100.

Mazda 2 is 9.3

Cx 3 is 8.4

Mazda 3 is 7.3

So Mazda 2 drives better but is in fact slower.

Mazda 3 will drive better due to lower ground and is faster.

Cx 3 will drive not as well because it is a suv. Height issues with handling.

Ps: also depends on what year is the make.

My 2015 mazda 2 lose out as it doesn't have GVC but still handles very well at curves. With GVC will surely be much better.

Have never test drive mazda 3 but the lower the better.

Ps2: cx 3 2019 was also tuned to have slightly more power ratio.

I believe that mazda 3 without additional tuning already has better power ratio.

Base on sg car mart.

Mazda 3 is 162 / 210.

CX 3 is 157 / 202.

So power figures is also higher in favor mazda 3.

thanks man, seems like the major concern is the rear space (even from online reviews) but overall madza drive feel should be good.

its 82k brand new now for cx3 base model which is why its tempting with that 2litre powertrain.

2 litre mazda 3 will probably cost way more.

I think 2L mazda 3 will be same or cheaper.

Did you already check the price of mazda 3 2L?

It's POA on sgcarmart.

Personally it is a good buy at 82K if the rear + boot space is not a concern to you. If you're ok with a sedan, the mazda delux HB will be another good option. Around same price with slight increase in boot space & have most of the features of the higher trim cx3 model. Just to add - take your time to consider, it is a buyer's market now & the next few months. Do consider overall annual depreciation & other factors like finance, loan, insurance, warranty, service.....etc There is a difference between what you want & what you need.

need the boot space and rear actually cause i'm driving a swift now so i understand the pain of the lack of rear space.

i guess cx3 is out despite the specs, probably wait for facelift mazda 3 then!

I think the coming Mazda 3 is a new model, not facelift.

You are better off waiting for the new mazda 3 release, if there's no need for you to change urgently.

Given that the roads are filled with current mazda3 model, its a huge turn off.

I was previously driving a swift, but i needed a car that is sufficient for a small family (little one otw).

In truth, i'm someone who prefer aesthetics and car performance, i can make do with a smaller space.

The cx-3 ticks all the checklist except the boot and rear space, but honestly how big of a space do you need for a baby at the rear? Boot is able to accommodate a decent size stroller, good enough for me.

By the 5th year who knows? If COE does not fluctuate much i might decide to change again.

The new mazda 3 is not much bigger but new cx3 3 is supposed to address the space issues. So worth waiting for new cx3 3 as well.

I wasn't aware of the changes but my consideration was Coe and smallest suv.

You will do well to wait for both new Mazda 3 and cx 3 before deciding.

Heard tat the new CX3 might arrive at Sg 4th quarter of 2019. The new design will be wider, taller & with more gadgets in it. Should haf the new skyactivX engine too.

Hence pricing wise will be higher too.

Not too sure abt it coming to Sg but hearsay only.

I do wish they can keep the size the same. I really prefer the small SUV.

Any bro has advice on where to get stock toyo 215/50R18 tyre? What would be the price like? Heard it is uncommon to find

If can’t find the original toyo tyres, can try Michelin Primacy 3. Quite good reviews on wet road condition. Toyo rating C & Michelin is A. Edited by UncleLabbit

I changed to alternative 225/45/R18 Yokohama Advan dB v552. Much more silent and softer ride. But a bit more increase roll during cornering.

225/45 means ur ride is now slightly lower but the tyres are wider right?
