My FNA has this syndrome too. You can see it expelling water under your engine bay after turning off the engine.
teomingern 6th Gear June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Battery water is distilled water...It's not the same. Battery water must meet certain stricter specifications otherwise it will foul your battery and kill it.
BenTong Turbocharged June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 So I did the soundproofing with MI, for 4 doors and roof plus the undercarriage coating. cost $1760. it's some aluminium coated pads, quite heavy, side benefit the doors now got solid heavy thud when closing. results are pretty decent, wind noise cut down quite a bit, could hear the radio at lower volume. road noise also cut down but effect not as pronounced as the wind noise reduction. overall pretty satisfied - i think i could have gotten a better deal in terms of price but i'm not really zai at such stuff so having MI do it is easier for me. Bro, can share details what you did at MI? 4 doors & roof ? Undercarriage coating?
Slowcat 1st Gear June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Anyway, I contacted MI via the website and there was a response. So this week I bring car in for them to check. In fairness to MI, they did respond to my email. Pretty good service I have to say. My sales guy was more skeptical, said 2 weeks no start still cat start "impossible". I show him the threads here stating so. So over the next few days I not driving so I will monitor the voltage and see how. Keep u guys posted. Zefiris Neutral Newbie June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 As the Forester battery is wet battery that need to top up distilled water. Can we use those type of distilled water from supermarket instead of those from petrol station?Wow. I didn't know new car batteries comes with this battery water requirement. Can ask if there is a standard period of time we have to top up battery water? Or any special checks for this kinda batteries? Paisei, I've only used maintenance free battery before. Or can check if there is any kind of trade in for battery? It's a hassle to have to track the battery water level.

Icecube187 2nd Gear June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Have that clicking sound from my FXT, old ColtR, old swift and old vios. I assumed its normal, probably aircon expelling water.. Believe that clicking sound u r referring too, is what u hear outside the car after a long drive, which i believe, is the catalytic converter cooling down. Those clicking sound u will hear inside will be those relays for the headlights, wiper etc.

Tryxx 1st Gear June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Bro, can share details what you did at MI? 4 doors & roof ? Undercarriage coating? @Bentong, yep 4 doors, roof, undercarriage coating @jamesgetz, yeah, thats next on the list, thinking of changing at the next tyre change @muser, no idea what brand, very sorry. the invoice just says aluminium coated pads. i left my car overnight, i think they can probably rush out in the evening if you sent it in at 7.30am, but for me i wanted them to check other stuff as well and i wasn't in a rush, thought better to get them to do it properly, so i just said i'll pickup the next day. it was done by lunchtime the next day. @slazen, the doors, roof and undercarriage did cut down the noise quite significantly in my opinion, so i was quite happy with the results. hopefully will improve more with the tyre change. akan datang
Jgeneie Neutral Newbie June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Understand the s mode is more fuel economy than i mode. Don't know how true. Anyone have any insights?
Slazen 1st Gear June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 (edited) @Tryxx cant wait for your change for a quieter ride. Too bad mine is still long before changing the stock tyre. Didn't try much S mode. All the way in I mode since collection my FNA averages around 7.3L/100km (13.6km/L) with SPC95 with 50-50 highway-town. If 90% highway for going to work and back for that week its best is 5.4/L (18.5km/L). Trying out SPC98 to see if it benefits FC. But of course who buys Subaru because of its FC Edited June 27, 2016 by Slazen
