I'm wondering is there any chance that MI will give the showroom display car to their customer instead of new car? I mean both are new car just 1 is display car which let ppl see/touch/seat/open/close here n there...

any chance to happen or happened b4?

I'm just curious.

I dont think this will happen. For such unit, they give a reasonable discount on the car as demo/display units. Maybe 2-3k discount compared to non-display units(brand new)

It happened to me in 2009 but it's from a PI.

Lucky I took a photo of the chassis number.

If you are worried you can do the same. Take a photo for reference. Or don't buy that colour.

Also put down in writing at the sales agreement that you don't want any showroom, demo or test drive car.

COE drops $4.5k and MI only drop $2K on their prices, huh!! The number of unsuccessful bids from last excerise seems high too. Really cannot predicate COE and how MI going to price them cars. . . . .

No lah drop more than 2k

Very attractive to buy FXT now

MI never raise any issue during servicing regarding the video camera installed by third party. There is also no mention of voiding the car warranty of any sort

They will not have any problem, but what they said. If they found electronics had issues due to external camera installation they could void warranty.

Here is text taken from email i received from MI

Should you have it install with a third-party installer, we are not liable to any damage caused to your vehicle.  Any issues with your vehicle that is found link to this camera, we shall not honour any warranty on that particular complaint.

I just noticed my car camera sometimes didn't turn on (didn't hear any power on announcement) The power cable wasn't pushed in all the way. Do a quick check to see whether the led lights come on before driving off

I installed IROAD and now Thinkware ( front & rear ) both with 24 surveillance on my past Mitsubishi Grandis and now Forester XT. Both system connect to car electrical system without any car battery depletion issue . My current Forester have Thinkware with 24 hours surveillance for 5 months already , car battery not affected at all . It's the same for iroad with 24 hours surveillance using it for about a year without battery issue on my ex Mitsubishi. It is noted that both system have built in car battery protection system which will cut off power when it detect the car battery is low - and this can be set by car owner . So no unnecessary worries over this matter lah. Anyway for precaution just turn off the unit if u going away a few days overseas for example. To further qualify that I do not travel much with both cars ..home to office and weekend short drives only

How many hours you drive and park a day on average?

One of parent of my kid school also told me similar problem in her 2 weeks old XT.

She said, she hear lady announcement every one in a while driving (same announcement which we hear on starting of Engine). It seems power connection is lose.

Daily driving time around 1.5 hours , the rest of the time is parked. My FXT is about 5 months old now and has only clocked around 6000km
