Hi All,

As my FXT is almost a year old, it's time to renew Insurance and Road Tax. I asked for quotes from diff companies, and the best deal is from a company called Sompo Insurance. When I did a search, I found that they are the second largest insurance company in Japan, with over 100 years of history. Anyone have any experience dealing with them before? They allow repairs to be done at MI, in fact excess is the least if repair at agent, even less than at their autorised workshops. Appreciate any and all comments.

Thanks

Just received my new ride, FNA. Noticed a whining sound at low speed (between 10 and 20 km/hr). Checked with MI, told me this is normal for Subaru CVT All-wheel-drive. I googled but couldn't find any discussion thread on the issue. Is this really normal or something I should fix? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yes, MI told me the sound exhibits across the new range of CVT + All-wheel-drive vehicles and the characteristic is acknowledged by parent Subaru Japan.

Why all the PM? FXT 120800, or 118800 if u have a car to trade in.

It's no secret ma. Of course prices may change at any time.

Just to share. Yesterday just settle all final payment and collecting FXT next thursday which booked during 46k COE. Inchy a bit, check out with SE for current price. Not sure accurate or not.She said current price only 2 servicing included and no in-cam and folding mirror. May be all this you can nego. Now the price FXT after discount should be 119,800. Go down and find out more will be good.

You lugi or earn more from the trade-in price you can get from the SE rather than from the freebies.

Make sure you drive a good bargain for the trade-in price of the old car and you can settle your accessories elsewhere (probably with better quality material and workmanship also if you go to the better workshops).

Some of the MI SE's are the 2nd hand car dealers themselves - they sign the cheque/trade-in agreement on behalf of the 2nd hand car dealer company and they do the valuation of your old car by themselves.  So, they should have a bit more leeway to give you a better deal if they want to.

Got a FNA during the 46K COE period.

Planning to pay the outstanding payment this week.

SE said that vehicle will be ready on 24 Feb and have to collect by 25 Feb.
