Hi Bro, can share with us the cost of anti rust protection for undercarriage provided by MI and how how it takes together with servicing ? Thanks

It's around 250 if I recall correctly. I offset most of the cost using my duo points. It takes less than 4 hours together with 1k servicing. Not sure if it's worth doing the anti rust.

MI don't install POWER Magic Pro any more, you need to contact Management and they will reply you back.

I was also taken a back when i went to ask Service staff to install Power Magic pro and they told me Management instruct them to stop install Power Magic Pro (seems people got their batteries drained beyond the point they cannot start their rides).

They will help you to install Power Magic Pro, at expense of your car Battery warranty voided (which means if your battery died while Camera was on, they will charge you for towing service and possible battery change even your battery is 1 week old. Nice way of screwing the customer).

Maybe FN, cannot be XT.

You will get cheapest 2Channel camera (with no recording while parking), a bit salty statement [whip] .

Don't use Power Magic Pro

Use BlackVue Cellink Battery instead -  http://www.blackvue.com.sg/cellink-b-battery.html and connect via the 12v power socket (e.g. in the centre console) and the cameras in turn connect to the Cellink Battery.

This way will not void the car battery warranty since it is just like any electical appliance that connects to the 12v socket - MI cannot void warranty for those since the 12v socket is quite safe (e.g. MI never say cannot connect GPS to the 12v socket etc).

The 12v socket switches off once you switch off the car and so will not drain the car battery unlike Magic Pro.

Also, the 12v socket has its own fuse and protection to protect from drawing too much current when car is running.

Best of all, not need for MI to do the install.  Can use outside workshop.

Any Bro here who have tried to change FXT fog lights with LED bulbs? Understand from internet search is H11 bulb type. Your feedback is most appreciated esp also on whether MI will help change third party LED fog lights bulbs for Forester. Most Bros will also like to know reliable and cost worthy shops that are able to install car accessories for Subaru owners . Your sharing is greatly appreciated by all. Thanks in advance

Anyone using Cellink Battery for their incar camera?

I tried asking if MI will install third party camera, i was told they will not and in case if there is any failure due to 3rd party camera they could void warranty (and i am sure they could push the blame to camera if there is some issue with electronics).

Any bro using POWER Magic pro with BlackVue 5 series 2channel (Free) camera, is there any issue with battery so far?

i am thinking to use Cellink Battery rather , it will cut the camera from main battery and i don't need to install POWER magic pro.

Thanks in advance.

I bought from Qoo10 and bring to one of the audio shop to install. Qoo100 is the cheapest I can find

damn...my SE said can previously..told me just have to pay labour charge.

so if i buy BlackVue and get them to fix, no issues with warranty??

MI fixed for me Blackvue 2 channel with Cellink B. I think I may have been one of the 1st few when I collected my car last year June as their servicr agent Jeff told me he hadnt done it before. Most had used power magic pro but I didnt want that after doing my own research. Suprised me that now MI is not doing power magic pro, based on what other bros have posted.

I posted quite a detailed review in the accessories section. I dont drive much so when parked at home in my hdb carpark i do not turn it on. But if u drive a lot, maybe it can last overnight parking... would like to hear from others. My gut feeking is that unless you are some sales or insurance agent that travels a lot, it is unlikely your batt can cover all your parking times, including home.

The reason they won't do it is probably because they wish to reduce the cost of providing warranty claims.

Maybe there are a lot of people asking for new car batteries due to the sheer number of electronics tapping on their battery..

Cheaper for them to ban these items and say it will void their warranty.

Any battery has a basic warranty, typically 12 months.

noted. but the 5 yr MI warranty doesn't cover the battery beyond the 1st year right?

I installed IROAD and now Thinkware ( front & rear ) both with 24 surveillance on my past Mitsubishi Grandis and now Forester XT. Both system connect to car electrical system without any car battery depletion issue . My current Forester have Thinkware with 24 hours surveillance for 5 months already , car battery not affected at all . It's the same for iroad with 24 hours surveillance using it for about a year without battery issue on my ex Mitsubishi. It is noted that both system have built in car battery protection system which will cut off power when it detect the car battery is low - and this can be set by car owner . So no unnecessary worries over this matter lah. Anyway for precaution just turn off the unit if u going away a few days overseas for example. To further qualify that I do not travel much with both cars ..home to office and weekend short drives only

hi bro, when will ur car arrive?

MI never raise any issue during servicing regarding the video camera installed by third party. There is also no mention of voiding the car warranty of any sort

COE drops $4.5k and MI only drop $2K on their prices, huh!! The number of unsuccessful bids from last excerise seems high too. Really cannot predicate COE and how MI going to price them cars. . . . .

any chance to happen or happened b4?

I'm just curious.
