A small precision screw driver will be suitable for the reassignment of the wire position.

Hey bros, it is a good Sat morning and long overdue update on my last planned bigger mod.

 

Fitting of wrx sti passenger seat turns out to be a breeze after less than 1 hr with 100% plug and play which only needed swap of the railing as wrx sti's railing is known to be too low from subaruforesterusa and minikara.co.jp forums .. the highest being our lowest setting. Plugs and connectors are the same except I did not plug in the heater of the wrx sti seat that came with it.

 

Hope driver seat due fitting on Monday will also be soon soon since there is added complication of memory function in our fxt.

 

Once ok, aftermarket electric/air lumbar support from amazon.com will be fitted inside seats as also done by one subaru fxt owner in usa for the perfect seating comfort.

 

Enjoy the photo to compare the difference ... it is nicer in real life and the grey shade is a bit lighter but not significant enuff to warrant rewrap especially the leather looks better than my 6 mths old stock local leather.

Paiseh but there is no shop for these rare seats but independent sellers and need to have a close lookout for them at yahoo japan, crooner japan etc.

 

Another way is to call wreckers in Australian or UK since need rhd to help look out for you but I prefer Japan origin as they really keep their used things in pristine condition as in this case.

PS: think I only saw 3 sets (pair) in last 2-3 yrs which only 1 set is full leather and full electrical while reminding are suede and manual

Thanks and really relieved cos shipping the 2 seats cost a bomb on this bet that it works like what other fxt owners in usa and japan did with their jdm and usdm ones ... albeit offset a bit by getting sti spring, kaki's recaro seat rails for his euro R's recaro seats into his fxt etc. etc.

 

Only wrx sti 2015+ VAB is plug and play appparently with same harness/connectors but yet to see driver's seat on Monday .. fingercrossed.

My fxt can only transport one seat at a time and I had to rush off to do the above fireball polishing and coating ..busy day ..keke !

 

If driver seat cockup due of memory seats, at least let me enjoy today and tmrw .. lol !

The seats look great! Side bolster look bigger than stock which should give better support.

 

But did I read wrongly, shipping + GST already costs $1K, excluding seat price?

Affirmative ... without cost of the seats. It was actually 1.3k but I less amount for the pink spring, recaro railing for my kaki and other miscellaneous items.

Hi James,

 

Wrx sti seats indeed has more pronounced side bolster .. furthermore, it is a bit narrower and there is a hump at end of the seat to support your thigh.

 

These and high quality leather do make them more comfortable and I made my wife drove me around as only passenger seat had been fitted ... lol !

 

Let's see how the driver seat and aftermkt lumbar support turns out on Monday.

Wrx sti driver seat fitted successfully with full electric function including memory and fob saving functionalities ... harness is 100% plug and play :)

 

In addition, universal lumbar support works fine with added seating option. Btw, RHD the wrx sti seats are so-called limited edition and has the lumbar support option not in those I bought as seen from the available switch shown in photo ... I modded the original cover which is also 100% same for control switch that came with the aftermarket lumbar support to avoid cutting wires.

 

Just try to get the 2015+ wrx sti seats and you are good to go !!

Passenger seat mod already done and updated to bros here on Saturday with photos (http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2698911-2015-forester-20/page-298?do=findComment&comment=6439611) ... I was concerned only since then on the driver seat but all ok.

 

100% full functionalities like stock for both passenger and driver side ... now with added lumbar seat support that can be also be added to stock seats also:

It is actually also better for me who has a long body and had my seating adjusted max all the way down ... while on the railing are original stock else wrx sti rails are way to low, the seat cushion is somewhat lower at your bum area while the thigh area is the same.
