Hi bro, just to check, you use the 235/55/18 Michelin Latitude Sport 3 on your stock XT rims or after market 18'' rims? XT rims can fit?

235 should be able to fit onto the XT rims. But the correct tyres profile I think is 225/55/18 or 245/50/18. I think also got people using 235/55/18, just that speedo will be slightly off. Edited by Epsilon

XT rims also 7j right? Isn't 235 on 7j a bit too much?

End of the day it's really dependent on our route. I go to work almost all Highway or major arterial road, but always ganna stuck at PIE Lornie exit in the morning. End up with about 10l/100km.

On days when I pick my wife up in Tuas, going home during evening peak, i can get sometimes even 6+litre/100km which is about 15km per litre?

To me the FC is not as bad, i think it is just slightly worst than the usual 1.6l sedan. Of cuz we cant compare to cars like CHR or Vezel hybrid.

Depending on your travelling time and or office location, you might be surprised with the FC actually.

Hi Zpliu,

Route or hwy/city ratio but also driving style as bro Icecube reported.

I can only do 8-9km/l or 450-500km/tank on my previous estima while kaki's ride driven by his CO can acheive 600-650km/tank.

6+l/100 or 15km/l is outstanding but dun believe you are a lane 1 driver or at least not a lane 1 driver who does not get honked at .. lol !

Cheers.

Richard

Hi both fxt and fna bros,

For fxt bros, pink springs is great after installation at bks woodsland c/o Keong together with IAG AOS and the Breeze clamps with smoothen inner surface unlike stock one that bites into the rubber hoses .. no longer jittery, nicely composed and surprising even quieter as also confirmed by CO ... lol !

Roadholding and even braking are more assured and comfortable than stock spring also. Note with front cusco strut, front cusco arb, rear beatrush strut, rear wrx sti arb and most importantly, sti flexible subframe as well as added load of say about 60kg on rear due to ICE and SP ... this ends my search for compliant ride but with reasonable roadholding.

For fna bros, heard that your rear suspension other than having no rear subframe as shared previously, the dampers are self leveling type that are >3x price compared to simple dampers in the fxt ?? Had not googled to find out more but can any bro verify the cost if ever changed of reportedly >700/pair compared to >300/pair which will help validate this ? Will not dwell further on this highly subjective suspension thingy for me since on finalised pink spring :)

Cheers.

Nice sharing Richard. The clamps upgrade was the best mod thus far for me! I showed my mechanic the stock tridon clamps which can be loosen easily by hand, he shake head...

Hi Orixy,

Ouch ... din try the stock Tridon clamps on its loosening or tightening but believe the other concern is that they are through-hole with longer term concern that the rubber squeezed out may breaks due to vibration, heat and the stress/stretch.

Since I am doing the AOS which requires to remove quite a bit of the parts, I planned to have this done and did so ...few ten of dollars by BKS which is more than fair.

Cheers.

yup how heavy your right foot is, is very important too hahaha.

Yeah I'm seldom above 100kph and lane 1 lol. But definitely not the slow lane kind of driver as well lol.

Hi fxt bros,

IAG AOS fitted yesterday at BKS Woodsland c/o Keong looks stock in engine bay with fitting space.

Glad replaced all cable ties on hoses with orbit 316 SS clamps ... BKS is great ... even relocated racechip piggback from right to left and also rerouted a bit my ICE powercable into cabin.

Btw, pls call Keong before buying cos he mentioned too much work and not doing anymore with my case being helped by bro Chucky who was one of the 10 bros who MOed both the IAG AOS and fitting at BKS.

Cheers.

Richard

PS: this morning exhaust throw less smoke liao .. to be monitored further

The FNA bro who jio me buy together the STI pink spring from Japanpart earlier, after he has installed and told me that we must do this upgrade on our FNA, it is very comfortable and rear passenger will not feel bouncy like before. Btw, he has not install any ARB front or rear strut bar or tower bar, he chose to go direct upgrade for STI pink spring. [thumbsup]

Few days before, he went for his free servicing at MI, he bought the STI rear ARB from MI and installed by BKS (after checked with me). I asked him feel any different for his FNA, he told me no different and can't feel..... lolzz [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Hi Titanic,

Good info for fna bros !!

On STI rear ARB or any rear ARB, you will not feel it much on straight road especially already on pink springs since stiffen up ... both suspension and these ARB/STRUT affects each other by the say initial of 80/20 for vertical/lateral and latter say 20/80 vertical/lateral performance/characteristics.

However, when corners or making a quick u turn, you will feel the difference for sure of ARB even with my case of all round front/back/top/bottom struts and arbs as well as pink springs .... hence it is ARB or anti-roll.

Cheers,

Richard

Spot on Richard. The clamps are a 1 time fix that'll give piece of mind and most importantly it restores performance!

Nice share on the AOS. I'm looking forward to getting the sti pink springs cos the rear really quite bumpy.

So far so good. I've already used them on NSHW and Msia B roads and they behaved v v nicely. Try it to believe. :)

The Michelin non directional? I was told our stock (FNA) is directional so MI only switch back to front. I'd prefer those non directional ones so that the wear is more even especially with the MSCP at home

You see the stock tyres do they look directional? Agent staff really any talk...

Frankly i didn't take too much look at thw tyres lol i shall see tonight haha. Anyway the reason that guy raised it to me was when i question him why the 2 year maintaniance package states rotate front tyres only.

Hi all,

new to MCF here. have to admit i have been a silent reader all along. cant wait to learn and listen to all the experts here...

I just collected my NA last month (Bronze Color) paid $93,300 for it, and I have to admit there are so many pages to read and poisons are aplenty.

Do not intend to do any mods on this car (family man now), having previously driven FD2R, Lexus IS250 and W212. Always wanted to try out a SUV and so here I am.

Richard, I am the poor victim whom ah boon called you last week to enquire about the autofold module I bought from Taobao. sadly, it still cannot work and I have since given up hope. Ah boon is kind enough to offer me a universal auto fold module at fraction of the price selling on Taobao.

Hope to learn more from you all here...

Mods that I planning to do,

1. Tyre upgrade without upsizing

2. Brake Pads
