Does anyone know if the new forester is displayed at the Singapore motor show? Cant get any info searching on the web...

The new XT is not because it's not approved by LTA.

I can't remember if the NA was there cos I didn't go look for it.

But the pricelist remains the same and the old photos are used. My SE told me LTA don't allow them to show or bring new FL to Motorshow without approval.

spoke to one of the SEs at the motorshow that the FL XT will have the following

- new rims design

- memory seats

- headlights/taillights changes

- bi-xenon adaptive headlamps

- slightly bigger centre console screen

no eyesight and instrument cluster still the same as current outgoing model

And also SE estimate price premium over outgoing model is about $5k.

don't know true or not but indeed tempting for prospective buyers.

$5K extra for that? Sales talk 101. Just like when they launch the current XV variant. $8k premium.. Within 2 mths price drop to previous variant despite increase in COE. Just wait for a few months..

Latest news from my SE is price remains @ 124,800. They are allowed to take bookings now. I'm still thinking about it.. As my ride expires only in 01/2019 and it's more of an itchy backside now rather than real need to change..

Am waiting for COE to go down.hee Hee. Anyway MI standard is $3K off the list price. And another $1k for non guaranteed.

My sensing they will bring it down by $3K the next round.

You might be correct.

Cat B Dropped $5K today to all time low of S$50 K.

List price may drop $3K to $110K. Minus $3K off list price + $1K off for non guaranteed COE = $106K.

Forester, here I come!

They got in a big container of stock. If you look at Cat B bid vs available COE this round you will know why. Demand is weak and actually will be lesser than what will be available in Feb.

Think lots of ppl (Cat B types) could be holding back buying new cars or are going for Cat A.

MI may want to offer ppl sweeteners to come in and help them move their Cat B cars

Where is this big container manz? Anyway i am one of the guys waiting for sweetener and most importantly COE to drop. Most likely will buy in June..but after the coe results yesterday, seems like end year will be cheaper.

I am just another cheapo who wants to wait for low low coe ...

Heard MI sold over 100 plus Foresters during MotorShow. If this is indeed true, then the big shipment of cars would have been sold before it arrives. Unless there are more cars already ordered by M1 and coming in soon.

Once upon a time, the Forester was a relatively rare sight on the roads. But now everywhere you look; from car parks to roads, they are everywhere. MI have hit a sweet spot with the perceived "great value for price"

mI not allowed to take order by LTA coz still not tested. Think XT testing now. Maybe they were clearing existing stock.

Buyers and ADs is playing a cat n mouse game these next few months. All depends on perceptions. AD will send out messages to "coerce" buyers that while COE will go up bcos everybody will rush in. Still think it will be heading south for this year. Those who can wait wait. Those who can't.. Just pray

Not true, got a fren who book a new model car that haven't approved by LTA. Wait for a 2 mths finally approved and delivered the car. From c&c. They say if not approved will refund. Different dealer work differently. Not a rule by lta. Edited by Pocus
