sunnymonk 1st Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 The new colour supposed to be Sepia Bronze. So may not be the standard brown colour that could have been visualised without looking at it in flesh. Hopefully not like Qashqai's Bronze colour which looks more brownish than bronze. Got the pics from the link below(existing colours). I have seen the Bronze metallic in SG before. In fact, that was the last XT available pre FL that was offered to me at a good price. I don't think there will be a big difference in colour for the new FL models. http://www.planetsubaru.com/2017-subaru-forester.htm
Sopskysalat 4th Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 True. My initial evaluation is based on similar argument. But still gotten a MPV because the cost of one is the same or lower than the FXT. Thus, I had decided to go for something bigger for the same cost. If I were to compare a say KIA K3 at lower cost against the real requirement of MPV, then the price different is around 20k, so it does not make sense to pay more for those weekend or rare occasion requirement. Priorities are different for individual and the cost of shoe is much different from a car that cost say 100x more. We buy one and use it for as long as the COE last. Some prefer driving dynamics while others go for the comfort. I like the performance of FXT, and i can get one with similar specs by getting say S-Max or VW Sharan but the cost justification is at least 40K more. I ended doing a balancing act with a smaller turbo and compact size mpv. To end, priorities and most importantly, emotional needs for most including myself. Someone once told me the analogy (was it JC on Top Gear?) that it would be silly to wear spiked golfing shoes every day just because of the one day of the week you go play golf. Similarly, unless you go out every day of the week with all the bigs and smalls, it is eminently illogical to drive around a 7-8 seater just because of the occasional family trip. Aside from carting around all that air, you end up being the office lunch bus. And colleagues don't take care of your car, and after a while, take it for granted - the time, petrol, and parking. I'd say getting something within your nuclear family unit is good enough.
Xefera 6th Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 If you are gonna Ferry 5-6 passenger every day (7-8 pax including druver), the forester or even Outlander is not the car to go for. If the 5-6 passenger is just weekend affair, or even occasionally on weekend then still ok bec really want safety with seat belt can take taxi.. My household have 6 adults 3 kids.. but daily driving is only me and wife. Weekend with 2 kids, once every 3 weeks to 1 month then with another 2 adults or even 5 adults (but seldom). But if to cater to occasional weekend Ferry and get MPV.. I wouldn't do it la. Not sure if forester is available in brown..maybe have but not popular even if have bec think have never seen it before on road. Seen brown SUV from Honda, Toyota, BMW, Nissan, VW, Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, but none before for subaru leh its probably bronze as this is the closest colour to brown. cmdsea 3rd Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 Collected my new Forester a couple of weeks ago and have now clocked up about 800kms.. I have noticed a sort of wheezing/whining noise when I am slowing down from about 15kmh till i come to a standstill. I presume this is from the CVT but I dont remember noticing it when I went on the test drive. I will query this when i go for the 1st servicing but just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and if its considered normal or not. Thanks for any info
Singtel88 1st Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 Went down to Leng Kee today, a nice SE brought me to Level2 to see the FL XT when I enquired. Metallic brown. think besides the lack of EyeSight3, everything else probably there. Even had memory seats for driver. never realized that the steering wheel feels quite compact compared to my Legacy's, means I probably don't have to change to a DAMD haha.... have to measure next time to be sure. and for those who wonder how the STi kits look like, the LengKee Pre-FL white Forester is on it. you can see if you like the front lip and rear diffuser. waiting patiently for official launch and test drive.... wow so good... I see this post I drop sms to my SE asking 2016 XT model is it here or not he reply nope.. i just to know how is 2016 model look like... I book a car without know how is look like :( You have any photo? if have can pm me?

Thanks for any info For any strange sounds that the service advisor says is normal but you feel otherwise, ask to drive the test-drive car. If sound not heard in test drive car then insist that it is abnormal and which they must get it repaired. Got the pics from the link below(existing colours). sunnymonk 1st Gear February 1, 2016 Share February 1, 2016 (edited) @Nav14 yes, disclaimer already listed above(existing colour). But I don't think it's that far off. Cos if I Google sepia bronze, it's very near to the brown I saw in the showroom. That was the colour I saw on the old XT. It also has SRH, Where the headlights turn to follow the steering angle. Not very useful in Singapore as the street lamps are so bright but good for going up north. Khimwoon Neutral Newbie February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I'm one of those lurking around waiting for the COE to drop to a sensible region... after comparing the spec of XT and non-XT, the extra goodie for that 10k different I believe its worth it. Online reveal that they have improve the handling for the XT too... must test it out once they are available!
sunnymonk 1st Gear February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Sorry for noob question. Since the stock tires are 225/55/18, can we change the tires to 235/50/18 without any change to rims? My initial thought is yes but please correct me if I'm wrong. ↡ Advertisement
