Icecube187 2nd Gear June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 Did anyone encounter situation where the auto rain sensing wiper activates the wipers when there is not much water on the windscreen and the lower portion drags noisily ? I don't know if the sensor is too sensitive or the wiper is not installed properly....appreciate help. On the Octane issue, I found this informative and entertaining : Yes, my auto wipers sensitive. While driving, Few drops of water kenna, wipers will come on. When i start my car after rain and windscreen covered w water, it wont come, i have to manually activate wipers. If your wipers are dragging, try wipe the blade with wet tissue and try again ↡ Advertisement
Muser 4th Gear June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 I tested also but does not work. Suspect that the person with the working HU is actually having a more up-to-date firmware. Maybe, can see if Fuji-Ten or MI can flash our HUs to that version. I suspect the same. Now to embark on a mission to get Fujitsu Ten or MI to flash our HUs to newer firmware. Sounds straightforward enough, but I just know this mission is going to be an exercise in frustration. If we end up with up-to-date firmware, however, I think it'll be worth the tedium *takes deep breath*.
Tryxx 1st Gear June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 Thanks for all the advice! I'll take a look at Zen and Infratint. Will also check out MI for soundproofing the next time I go for servicing, should be soon. Will update if I get it done at MI and what the price is for FNA. TameDriver Twincharged June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 Hello, I'm new to the forum, have a Forester 2.0 bought end of last year. Thinking of putting in new solar film and doing some soundproofing (the road and wind noise a bit loud). Looked around, found many solar film, not sure which is good. Also dunno where to do soundproofing for Forester. Any good recommendations? thanks!! All my cars (beemers) had solar films installed at ZenCool. Linux8998 1st Gear June 15, 2016 Share June 15, 2016 All my cars (beemers) had solar films installed at ZenCool. May I know which package did you take up from ZenCool? I trust that you have done comparison with others and believe ZenCool is value for money compared to those double the price. Appreciate your advise. Thanks. For Forester, $430 will give the best package already.
Rayleigh 6th Gear June 16, 2016 Share June 16, 2016 What I like about Subaru's AWD doesn't require breaking traction to enjoy. The handling simply feels more precise and predictable when driving fast (but within speed limits), compared to many FWD and RWD cars I've driven. It's about confidence-inspiring poise, and steering accuracy. And when you do break traction, I've got to give credit to the electronics. VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) and active torque vectoring compensate for both understeer (FWD prob) and oversteer (RWD prob) to keep you on your line, and this comes with all Subaru models I know of except the XV. Many cars comes with smart traction control these days, but traction control is inherently more effective when you have more wheels to distribute power to. Of course, there are those who say that AWD is boring precisely because it's so safe. And I have a buddy who excels at RWD throttle steering, which you can't do with AWD - at least not in the same way. But my needs are different, so give me boringly safe and predictable any day, please, thank you very much. Think XV comes with VDC except active torque vectoring. mrhan1982 4th Gear June 16, 2016 Share June 16, 2016 Went to MI TPY for some touch up paint due to paint chips from flying stones... End up took up the Clasani undercarridge coating. damage is $290. SA mentioned a lot of ppl took up the coating and it can prevent rust and improve sound insulation from road noise a bit. I sorta buy into his sales pitch. lol. Offset with $8000 DUO points ($50 off) ,end up paying $260 (after gst). On my way home via PIE towards changi, I kinda feel that the road noise seemed a little more muffled? Or maybe its just my imagination? anyway, they pasted 2 stickers on the boot window to indicate coating was done... Any bros did the coating? Any feedback? I received an invitation for new owner workshop for next sun (25 Jun), Anyone going? I should expect a lot of new forester owners since i saw the collection room filled with foresters of various colours! Is the workshop useful? Anyone went already? MI touch up for you or you bought touch up paint from them? Any dents? FoC? I seen those touch up pens at Autobacs and supermarts, how do those fare compared to letting MI do it... How long will the coating last? They spray a kind of foam with will harden to become a semi-flexible rubbery coating. supposed to last as long as lifetime of vehicle if its not damage by sharp objects or extreme weather conditions such as winter. MI touch up for you or you bought touch up paint from them? Any dents? FoC? I seen those touch up pens at Autobacs and supermarts, how do those fare compared to letting MI do it... Just like to know in case it happens to me. Think the rest can learn too. Mine only 3 paint chips no dents. They don't sell the touch up paint. They only do for u FOC, The touch up done by MI not fantastic. colour slightly off too. But the SA did warn me before doing. I agreed to that. It still beats better than not doing where I scared the chipped spot will expand lol...

Was telling my wife last 2 times I saw the lights on that we forgot to lock the car...haha. Kinda cool. Yup. find this feature super cool too 1 tip for those who washes their own car. If you carry the key with you while washing the car, water splashes and soap suds on the front door handles can trigger the car to lock and unlock. To overcome this, leave the key inside the car. The car will chime and not lock becos it senses the key is inside the car
