Thanks. Yep I was billed for the MIRT and even paid for the engine flush to remove all traces of shell helix... Now I have a feeling they put in shell helix again hahaha. Can those that changed to MIRT help to verify if they have the MIRT sticker or still use the shell helix sticker?

Wa u really dun like the shell helix... I can understand. It's crap. But fc is quite good on it actually. Just that it feels a bit sluggish when Rev hard. Makes the car lazy.

 

But more importantly, do u feel a difference with the mirt?

 

I top up with motul 300v without flushing and it feels great. Especially on higher revs. Car really feels alive.

The motul 300v I using is still 5w40. Brand change alone can already feel the responsiveness and engine is more silent and refine.

 

I might try 300v 5w30 next round.

Honestly can't really feel the diff too in terms of performance and FC, which is why I worry it may not even be MIRT at all in my car. The SA told me that with the motul oil, the difference will be quite significant compared to the shell helix. Too ex for me though lol. I think it was $65+

300v is top up 70+ can assure u the extra cost is worth it drive sensibly the fc is pretty good too. Got power and good fc.

i tried the MIRT and realised the cold start rpm is a flat 2K, which drops to  1.5K when set to D. Anyone encountering the same with V300 or MIRT ? a bit noisy though.

 

also, MIRT is really "smooth", literally can glide out from lot to along service road to CP exit, without stepping on gas in the morning.

My cold start rpm is between 1.6-1.9k. It should drop below 1k when you put into D or R and quieten down even with the blue coolant light still on.

The car will have to be here in order to be registered. It will only take a few days before u can collect it.

 

Mine was registered on a Saturday and collection done on the following Monday.

Those of you that changed to MIRT or motul oil, is your service reminder windscreen sticker still the shell helix one? I changed to MIRT oil but they still gave me the shell helix sticker with the "shell helix ultra" box ticked. Just wondering if it's the standard practice cause they don't have other stickers or did they not change my oil at all?

I got the motul sticker when i changed to MIRT at TPY.

Wanted to use 5w30 for my xt but mi say they only use 5w40 for turbo cars and will void engine warranty (wtf)

Anyway.. just went ahead with 5w40

 

Oh. I dun really bother abt the sticker as tore it away straight after

 

For ad servicing, just have to base on trust as no way to see what they use

Ask the SA don't bulls**t. Ask him refer to Subaru owner manual. Printed clearly to use 5W30.

Yup. It's normally if u let them fill it up with shell 5w40. It's the worst crap ever ...

 

Try motul, even 5w40 its responsive and engine is very refined. Step a little more quickly, u get to hear the soft psss psss sound. Heheh. It's very fun at sports mode.

 

For me i dun mind 5w40 as long as it's a good brand oil. Personal experience is that my engine sounds more refine using 5w40 than 5w30. This is especially noticeable during higher revs 4K or higher. Level of protection wise should be the same since Subaru recommends 5w30.

Is mirt double ester like the more ex 300v? If yes then it's a really good value. Coz 300v need to top up 70+...

Japan summer is much hotter than here and city traffic also heavier than here. Modern engine are designed to use thinner oil.
