Although i opt for FXT but i have to agree that one don't really need FXT when merging in expressway lanes or overtaking.

You just have to keep a lookout, there are some people who will die die not give you way (regardless you are coming at 70 or 200km/h). I think with experience everyone figure out if one can pass the person or just let him go first, just yesterday a guy driving Toyota Harrier came from small road without even stopping or looking if anyone coming that way "there is prominent stop sign". I was looking at him so i was able to apply emergency brake, he just speed away.

BTW i am still driving MIT Lancer and waiting for FXT.

Cheers.

Coming from a lancer manual car, I enjoy the power and stability of the fxt. With more confidence in motion my driving style has changed to suit the machine. I drive faster, use thr right most lane more, overtake with confidence, drive up ramps faster and get to my destination faster (not just due to faster speed but better positioning due to confidence to change lanes). I def camt go back to a less able machine.

Ya. I feel the same. Next ride will likely still be a turbo Subaru... and the next and the next... haa

I was driving a colleague's odyssey 2.4L some time back. Felt the car was really sluggish and have to step harder to get it moving. Despite being much lower and having a better CG, it is not as agile when comes to changing lane and Corning. Not a very nice driving experience. But at least the seats were comfortable. :)

For FXT

I did.

But sa insist that the one in manual is refering to countries like jap which has 4 seasons, but sg climate is hotter blah blah.

In view of me rushing for work, so just went with 5w40 as it only till 5k

So u did ur servicing for xt with mi all these while with 5w30?

I always use 5w-30at MI, no question asked. Don't experience any significant oil consumption as claimed by SA. If u ever travel to jp, their summer can be just as hot as in Sg.

Summer in Japan is much hotter. 2 different trip to Japan during summer both 37 ~ 38degC.

Since 1k, I had been requesting to use 5W30. Our FXT engine oil cap printed clearly 5W30. MI SA are all blind!!!

I think it's a cost matter. 5W30 costs more  than 5W40 for the same brand of oil. So if you insist, they will have to give you 5W30 as that is what the manual says, and what is printed on the Oil Cap. But if you don't insist, or you buy in to the SA's pitch of 5W40 more suitable for our climate, the company saves money.

I believed they get their supply of Shell 5W40 oil in drum, so their supply is dirt cheap.

Are you guys sure you can tell the difference between standard synthetic oil and Motul ?

Normally is butt feel unless you do a UOA test. Just like those cars with min RON92 telling me RON98 is better....

For SPMP,can ask MI to replace those parts like alternator, pads, a/c drive belt once, anytime within 2yrs/40k right?

alternator is the more ex stuff so while within coverage, better change. dun lugi.

Can just go and any how ask to change?

Wouldn't they change if it is broken or just change base on customer request [confused] ?

I think they will recommend you which one to replace (maybe they will always give you option of cheaper one [:|]).

But looking at other options like

1- Rotation of wheels.

2- Free bulb replacement (so they will only help to change but you have to buy the bulb? But still if you go autobacs or anyone else they do charge money to just replace bulb on top of bulb price).

3- Wheel alignment.

seems more worth (i am not sure if towing will be free when sign package)?

Cover within 24 month doesn't mean you can suka suka go down to change the part anytime leh.

If can suka suka change, every month, i will bring my iphone, washing machine, car engine and every single shit that is cover within the period to their respective shop to change for a new one lo..
