Any better cam that utilizes less battery than V9? My V9 starts turning off parking mode after few hours although my battery is only 1 year. Configuration and setting remains.

Why is this so?

one question - is there any way to set the per clip recording time to longer rather than just the default block?

Not that I know of.

When I review the clips on my desktop viewer, they aren't fixed length but varies.  I think it depends on the complexity of the scene. Parking scenes are long because the images don't change much.  Complex ones are short but they get saved quickly resulting in seamless playback of the entire footage.

Hmm...

The V9 uses 2.3W

As a comparison, a Blackvue dr590-2ch uses 3.6-3.89W.

I'd blame your one year old battery.

Most pple replace the car battery in 18 months.  Your's about time.

I don't think changing a car cam helps.

Has anyone used the Iroad Power Pack or Power Pack Plus to run their cameras?

Any feedback? The Power Pack plus seems to have higher capacity then Cellink B6/Neo so wondering if it is good to buy.

Using iroad power pack for 3 months on the old V9 camera (2 years). 1st month no problem. 2nd month camera keeping restarting itself (sometimes re-install the program itself). went back to workshop, did a bit of setting on power pack APP.  but problem came back. went to Corvit and they did a 1-1 exchange since power pack was only 2 months old and they don't think is camera issue.

problem is still intermittent. Suspect car battery (just past 2 yrs) is not strong to charge while driving. was told camera is still powered by the battery pack while charging from the car battery. Must be quite a strain on the battery, esp at nite when air con and headlight ON. (pls advice if this is true).

Btw, the pack does not support 24hr even fully charged when I put camera is on parking mode (motion detection).

Were you satisfied with car cam's performance when your car battery was new?  With my new car battery, the cam records in parking mode (with lots of movements around my car which is parked next to the lift lobby) for 3 days.

If yes, getting a new car battery will costs you less then a power pack and performs better.

Not really, my v9 can only record up to 6 hours now in parking mode, initially when the car is new it has no problem recording up to 3 days.

The car is just 6 mths old now, the issue with the v9 is its motion detection is too sensitive and it keep on recording even thou I have set the sensitivity to the lowest.  [:|]

Hi, may I know your IROAD POWER PACK is the 6,800mA / 87.04wh or IROAD POWER PACK PLUS 13,600mA / 174.08wh?

Hi Everyone

I'm a newbie to dashcams.  Just installed the Q9 yesterday at Soon Lee.

I'm concerned about battery drain and I'm willing to go without parking mode if it helps.  Yesterday, after leaving the car parked for about 5 hours, I returned to see a warning message from the car info system regarding increased battery discharge while stationary.

Short of manually shutting down the unit, is there any way to disable parking mode? I tried changing settings using the iOS app - under Event Control, I turned off Impact, Parking and Motion Detection.  This didn't achieve the desired result - when I inspected the footage, I realised that doing so only activated continuous recording when parked.

I would be most grateful for any guidance.

Alvin

Go to iroad apps under setting and choose camera off at 12.3V. I have been using V7 under this setting for 1.5 yrs, battery is still ok.

Hi all. I’ve been using the v9s2 for about 6 months now. Today I checked night playback, and the video quality quite shocking. Wondering if it’s my camera issue, because I’ve read previously that some owners has similar issue, local distributor recognise the defect and honoured the exchange.

Plan to install Q9 also, so is it right to say that the battery for Q9 not sufficient for parking video purposes?

Go back to Soon Lee and tell them to wire the Red power supply cable to an "ACC" point in your car.  This way power supply to the car cam is switched off the moment you switch off the engine.

It's a simple 2 minutes job.

Mine records in Parking Mode for up to 3 days non-stop.  My car battery (an EFM EFB) is brand new though.  Before the change, my almost a year old battery can power it overnight.

To be frank, My reserved parking lot at home is secured.  All I want is to record while the car is parked outside in a public lot (which usually lasts no more then two hours that even my old battery has no trouble with.)

The Q9/Q7 consumes 2.3W.  I cannot say for sure but I think it's one of the lowest power consumption among high-end car cams.

the lower version one

I see. Thanks for sharing. I guess for the small one is expected it won't last more than 24hrs. What I like about IRoad Power Pack is that it has USB so might be useful to power up USB devices that requires it.
