Point and go. Nothing like a proper rearwheel drive where u can oversteer and countersteer and hv loads of fun. amentosaday Clutched February 25, 2016 Share February 25, 2016 How do you know? I bought at motor show, back then they say March maybe? Itching to get :) haha, that's beyond awesome :) I'm itching to get too! I bought it during roadshow as well. The delivery depends on which colour you have bought and which batch it is. I bought the ones that was on the way to Singapore. I know of some who chose from the full list of colours, and probably will have to wait longer. I checked mine with the SE paid the remaining sum. Hopefully will receive early next month.

yappiebeemer 1st Gear February 27, 2016 Share February 27, 2016 Hi, just like to know if anyone has any suggestion on triggering regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter. Is there any risk of premature failure of the filter with short drives and start-stop traffic? Can I force a regeneration by taking driving at >2K rpm for 20 min on the highway? Has anyone used Carly for BMW? Does it work for DFP regeneration? Started to notice a noise from the aircon during cold start that progressively becomes softer when the temp stabilize. The noise is definitely different from the engine noise since it comes and goes when the aircon is turned on and off. Had this baby since last Sept and still enjoying it. Mileage is great but still not hitting the 24 km/l as advertised, even when I drive like a nun. The highest achieved was about 18.5 km/l.

I used a obdii reader to monitor the temp, during normal driving its 90deg. Will shoot to 100+ deg sometimes, which I think it's doing the regen. The aircon ventilation type toggling will have some sound coming out due to the internal flaps movement, especially when it's left default at "A"

You need a constant load on the engine -- not constant revs -- to keep the temps up for DPF regen. As long as you are the engine is pulling, even at 1500 rpm, it is good enough. You will know when the DPF regens: the engine sounds more "bassy". My car (520d) tends to regen around every 500km. I have Carly. Many features on Carly does not work on F series car, so don't bother. The sound of your aircon... are you are in Eco Pro mode? The aircon compressor on our cars are variable, so when it is in "eco" mode you may hear some whirring noise. Normal. 18.5km/L is already very good considering diesel after discount is around $1/L. You are saving around 3x in petrol costs than that of the owners of the old 116i. My 520d is averaging 13-14km/L for almost 80% city driving. The DPF regent Shd be ecu controlled somehow. Not sure if the 116d has temp on the dash... if there's a temp, the dashboard is already showing oil temp. Even the battery charging is "smart". Sometimes 13.5v sometimes 14.5v constant full recharge once a while. The 116 dashboard does not have oil temp gauge. Only getting 16+ km/litre. Ain't complaining though, within half a year and I get back my diesel tax in savings. Edited February 29, 2016 by Yargnits

This has been the case ever since around 2010/2011 when BMW introduced "Brake Energy Regeneration"

But sometimes whole journey is At 14.5v max charging all the way for a few trips. Think the ecu is cycling the battery charge. ↡ Advertisement
