Billed as the "ultimate practical sportscar", the F-PACE performance crossover is basically an evolution of the C-X17 concept and it has just about the same exterior design, albeit toned down a bit as expected on a production car. It rides on the same aluminum-intensive platform as the XE and XF sedans and is 4,731 mm long, with a generous 2,874 mm wheelbase and a massive 650-liter trunk capacity.

On the inside there's room for five people sitting "absolute comfort" thanks to plenty of head and knee room. It has a 10.2-inch touchscreen display part of the infotainment system powered by a quad core processor and running on a solid state drive (SSD). You can connect up to eight devices thanks to the hot-spot WiFi support while the sat-nav system can be displayed in the 12.3-inch instrument cluster which boasts a 3D mode.

Moving on to engines, customers will have to choose from the following units: 180 PS 2.0-liter diesel manual RWD/AWD and automatic AWD; 240 PS 2.0-liter petrol automatic RWD; 300 PS 3.0-liter diesel automatic AWD; 340 PS and 380 PS 3.0-liter petrol automatic AWD. The latter will run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 5.1 seconds and top out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).

If you are wondering how much it weighs, the 180 PS diesel in RWD guise tips the scales at 1,665 kg (3,670 lbs). Other goodies on the menu include full LED headlights, massive 22-inch alloy wheels and the Jaguar Activity Key which is a waterproof and shockproof wristband featuring a built-in transponder.

Upon launch, the Jaguar F-PACE will be available in the following versions: Pure, Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport, S and First Edition.

Just curious.

Between macan and F-pace.

Which one will you guys choose?

Isn't F-Pace in the larger Cayenne-like class?

...Well, anyway, I find the F-Pace more appealing visually, but I have this feeling that the Macan will be the more competent vehicle overall.

Jaguar F-Pace dimension is closer to Macan than Cayenne in real world,

F-Pace: 4,731mm (L) x 2,070mm (W) x 1,652mm (H), 2,874mm (WB)

Macan: 4,681mm (L) x, 1.923m (W) x 1,624mm (H), 2,807mm (WB)

Cayenne: 4,855mm (L) x 1,939mm (W) x 1,705mm (H), 2,895mm (WB)

It is suppose to also direct competitor of X3, Q5, GLC, NX, XC60 & LRDS, basing on dimensions...

I have the same list, minus the SQ5 because I owned Q5 before.

My friend beat me to it getting the macan S, so I probably looking at F-pace or X5, maybe considering cayenne/X4/X6 as well.

For me, my heart goes to macan, but not wanting to drive the same drive as my friend has limited the option for me.

May I ask how has your experience with the Q5 been? And your friend with his Macan S?

The F pace is new, so it'll feel good, for a while at least, to be one of the firsts to drive it here. The Cayenne is too big for me as I don't need a 7-seater. I can't accept the looks of the X4/6, sorry don't mean to offend anyone.

X5 is the only 7seater here.

I have no complains on Q5 to be honest, power is good and is spacious.

As for macan S, I sat at the back and felt it is slightly smaller than Q5. Have to sit in Q5 again to compare.

Other than that, I think macan S is a very all round drive.
