Hi Niam,

Does the engine got the dual CVVT feature? Is the Gearbox a CVT type?

Last time I ask the sales, she not know what I'm talking about? (she's a ATB)

Thank you.

A review I saw states that Tivoli uses a Japanese sourced Aisin 6 speed autobox.

Quite sure it is not a CVT unit.

As for CVVT, there is no mention of it on online specifications that I have seen.

It has 4 valves per cylinder, the usual 16 valve 4 cylinder engine.

Yes its a cvvt engine and a 6 speed cvt transmission. You can always ask another dealer to confirm.

I am very sure that it is not a CVT autobox.

It uses a 6 speed auto supplied by Aisin, Japan.

I prefer conventional auto, more natural feel as compared to the rubber band CVT.

I did not see any description of the engine valve control deployed in the Tivoli specifications.

So not sure if you can say that it is CVVT.

There is an online review by Torque here:

http://www.torque.com.sg/2509/ssangyong-tivoli-review/

See extract of this review:

"The Tivoli’s naturally aspirated 1.6-litre petrol engine, developed in-house by SsangYong, produces a respectable output of 128bhp and 160Nm, which qualifies it for Category A COE. The engine is matched with a 6-speed automatic sourced from Japanese transmission specialist Aisin. The same proven gearbox also sees service in newer MINI and Citroen automobiles."

many get confused with CVT with CVVT.... :slow:

Yeah, could be, the CVVT is continuously variable valve timing?

Referring to the type of valve timing system employed in the engine to control fuel-air intake and exhaust.

CVT is continuously variable transmission.

Referring to a type of auto trans with infinitely variable stepless gear ratios.

Neutral Newbie

Will be collecting mine today. Personally feel that it look more stylish than vezel. Too many vezel on the rd liao. The back seat can fit 3 adult without a problem. The best is 5 years warranty.

Bro, check with you regarding the Ssangyong Tivoli. How's the fuel consumption and what the 5 years warranty covers?

Check the service booklet. Usually it's written there.

Some AD 5 years warranty covers only engine and gearbox. Aircon most likely cover 2 years or up to some mileage. Headunit 1 or 2 years warranty.

The car sales person should be able to give you the info.
