Each subscriber per box/smartcard is authorized for those channels he paid for.

I believe there's a signal that goes around all the boxes and programmed them on a round robin basis.

It might take some time for that signal to hit your box at a different location.

Regardless where you plugged in, you always get what you paid for.

My old Android TV box died when I tried to update the firmware.

So I went to buy a new one today and wow... nowadays damn solid. Got all the pay TV channels like Nat Geo, HBO, Star Movies, AXN, Sky sports, etc... etc... got loads of channels from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, etc.. too... Even got live football channels... Sibei power... No horse run. :a-good: :a-good:

Who needs cable TV? :XD: :XD:

Yes got English. I got it in Hong Kong. Not sure if it's sold in Singapore. Costs about S$130 and able to support up to 4K resolution.

Found this youtube... can check some of the channels from 2 min onwards.

Use VPN lor... I just subscribed to one. Got servers in about 30 countries including Hong Kong so watching is not a problem at all. I use it to watch toggle.sg in SG :XD:

even without vpn the broadband in spore is already slow (definitely not fast like usa/japan/korea/etc)

with vpn ... the speed is even slower [thumbsdown]

i have used these sort of tv boxes and the reason to give up is lag and poor resolution

watch movie must has expectation la ... lol

live tv links can be erratic here in SG.

Even paid subscription iptv. Nowhere as reliable as Starhub.

Even with 1GB connection? I'm using 1GB and so far so good. Watching UK channels using VPN without problem.

because HK broadband speed is more "guarantee"

spore ISP say give you 1Gbps ... but can only promise "up to" and mostly drop at least 30% or more due to congestion

if surfing net at 3-4am then very fast la

besides, most of the content reside in usa, europe or asia (hk/china/taiwan/etc)

so the bottleneck is trans-atlantic fiber cable bandwidth from spore to outside world

Infrastructure really need to buck up. Even with so much competition between the telcos, they can be so lousy. [shakehead]

hearsay, telco is unwillingly to invest in new equipment to make internet speed faster because they need to recover the cost of old equipment [mad] ...

there is no "real" competition in local ISP la ...

hence, they can upgrade and rollout their strategy own time own target ...
