The talent of the actor that my very definition of a sneer comes from watching Alan Rickman in Robin hood and die hard. If I ever had to sneer at someone, I would picture the sheriff

Won't be. Sadly. (Only) those whom the gods love die young.

yeah RIP.....Alan

On that note, you should live to 130 based on what you said, ie, only the good die young

(edited)

He plays a villain well. I remember him in the first Die Hard and the Sheriff in Robin Hood(Kevin Costner). But I didn't know he played Professor Severus in Harry Potter.

:a-rip:

I recognize him in other roles but had no idea he played Hans Gruber. I only knew yesterday after so many years and so many re-runs of Die Hard.

He was my favourite villian and will miss him.

omg. hahaha i was thinking the same line as well!

But i like the one by Morgan freeman also.

"Is there no sun in this accursed country!"

haha +1 that one as well... not a bad movie given the poor acting by Costner and Slater. The others really pulled in though.

One of my favourite shows cos of the soundtrack and the story.

I watched it a lot of times on TV then on VHS when i recorded the show.

I always remember that this show kana censored differently by SG or MY

- RTM used to censor the part where u can see costner swimming nude in the pool. So no head no tail one sometimes when got some cleavage exposed then also suddenly cut until no head no tail (their editing is horrid)

- SG always censor the part where the arrow goes into one of the mounted men's head when Robin of Locksley 1st encounters nottingham's men.

liked this quote a lot as well

Marian: How is it, that a once-arrogant young nobleman has found contentment, living rough with the salt of the earth?

Robin Hood: I've seen knights in armor panic at the first hint of battle. And I've seen the lowliest, unarmed squire pull a spear from his own body, to defend a dying horse. Nobility is not a birthright. It's defined by one's actions.

Missed out the part that "The Crusades taught me that"

all the quotes from the movie!

This is terrible news!!! TERRIBLE.

First Bowie, now Rickman.

As I've always said (and just repeated to my wife and son):

"You know you've reached middle age when your idols keep dying.

You know you're reached old age when your friends keep dying."

RIP Hans Gruber, RIP Snape. RIP Dr Lazarus (the last one is so ironic considering that I dearly want this guy raised from the dead like his biblical namesake. Alas, Alan, it's not to be.). [:(]

You forgot Lemmy from Motorhead too.  Lost a rock legend.

Just watched galaxy quest. Very entertaining.

Glad you caught it.

One of those movies where the acting/ chemistry carries the movies rather than pre mktg hype or one outsized superstar.

I loved it when Sigourney Weaver's reaction about the script when she and Tim Allen were trying to reach the ship's reactor and had to go through this clockwork thingy.
