Checked with my SE. The incoming Ateca stock (not 2020 model) will come with Aisin 8-speed gearbox. I am curious on the difference with DSG (i am on DQ250), so will be arranging a test drive for the Ateca with 8-speed gearbox. 

For the new 2020 model, likely will come to Singapore next year.

The incoming Ateca stock (not 2020 model) will come with Aisin 8-speed gearbox. --> May I check whether for all Excellence and FR models? It will be good to know they are both Aisin gearbox, if they are more reliable in the long term.

For both Excellence and FR, it will be Aisin 8-speed GB.

Wow do let us know how the drive differs on a the aisin 8 speed ! 
personally I feel that the dq250 will still shift quicker than the 8-spd aisin so will feel more shiok. But then again if the difference is small then the reliability of the aisin would be tempting.

Seems like SCS has raised the Skoda Karoq Style price to $133k just after their e-sale, much more expensive than the Ateca 4WD? Did SCS sell out of stock during the recent e-sale, hence a steep increase?

Just saw the specs for the Ateca. I must say at that price point, it is very attractive indeed.

If I am looking for a new car, this model is surely something high in my list.

What variant are you looking at? Excellent or FR? Im quite stuck between this and Karoq not sure which one to get. But Karoq just upped their price few days ago, hence making Ateca even sweeter!

You should get the Ateca Excellence as I understood that it comes with the new digital cockpit. The digital cockpit and adaptive cruise control will probably cost a few k, if installed outside. Ateca FR should be your top choice vis-a-vis Karoq style - it has so many more features and more value for $.

Oh I didn’t know the current ateca lineup has the digital cockpit. Thought that I have to wait for the 2020 facelift.

You can call and ask Vertex. They just announced on the Seat Owners group chat and there's already a list of buyers waiting the digital cockpit models.

If I’m not wrong 8 speed Aisin is used in Volvo and some of the higher end jap car models. Toyota owns part of Aisin from way back so in terms of reliability should be there. In terms of performance may not be as good as the ZF 8 speed used in bmw, and probably does not shift as fast as dsg gb.

FR trim looks much more sporty! And also uses the 9 inch infortainment, where as the Xcellence if I’m not wrong still on the older 8.2 infortainment. 
im actually interested in the AWD model but if I’m not wrong only comes in the Xcellence trim.

No worries - always good to share. I also like the sporty FR model but they didn't have the colour at that time I bought. If I'm not wrong, Seat only brings in white, grey and black for the FR models each batch.

For the infotainment system, the new Excellence batch (after Oct 2019) should be fitted with the new 9'' system. The new info system doesn't have so many buttons as the previous Excellence batch, mostly touch screen now.

So far I heard no major issues on the engine and gearbox from the group chat feedback after 3 years since Seat was brought in, and hope for the next few years.

i heard they are no longer bringing in FR trims cause demand is not so good. is that what you guys understand also?

Probably most think is not worth the 2K extra for some spray paint, 2 FR badges and sports pedals?
