thanks Doc. although my friend with gout said his doctor told him not to eat soy products... hmm...

I would say most doctors don't know about this study i mentioned. It's not something that was part of conventional teaching and it came out only after i left school lol.

Anyway u'll see people who swear that it's worsened by legumes/beans etc, it could well be true and i don't think it's a big deal to not eat these foods. so yeah i won't belabour the point.

One of my favorite desert green bean soup. Doesn't trigger my gout. But then my gout frequency is roughly once a year thing.

i see. although i would assume that all doctors need to keep themselves updated with the latest studies and findings, like you are doing.  [thumbsup]

Everyone has different interests and currency. Too much going on at any one time.

Things like this ultimately don't affect management much. It's just a minor detail.

Sometimes u read and forget it anyway. Or you don't believe it anyway (we are all human, doesn't mean u read something means u would really follow the recommendations).

Just started the 8/16 IF, feel generally fine, other than abit of a headache at day 3. Lost 0.5kg from day 1.  I guess I will continue for a month and see. Surprisingly do not have any hunger pangs, and its easier than expected

that's true. we choose to read and believe what we want to. many people prefer to continue in their own comfortable ways...

I felt a massive loss of energy after week 1 of IF :( Now I'm into week 3 of IF, felt a little better.

Walking around like a zombie.

that's a bit unusual. I don't think most people feel that low energy. Maybe u need to look at what u are eating during your feeding window. Good to end feeding window with some complex carbs or more protein.

Not sure if it's because I'm pushing too hard, but I started with 16/8 and gunning towards 18/6.

Will give your suggestion a shot [thumbsup]  But usually, I end my window with protein shakes and some eggs, time to time some carbs.

hmmm if your body is used to it, 16/8 or 18/6 really not much difference except just bit more hunger at the end of the window. I think yeah just give ur body sometime to acclimatise.

I suspect you are in a period of significant calorie restriction by maybe taking too much protein and so your carbs as a macro is too low. Cos the protein shakes and eggs gotta be making u quite full lol.

I see I see. I'll try spreading out my nutrients throughout my open window and see how it goes the next few days.

Big Thanks, Doc!
