13177 Hypersonic June 25, 2018 Share June 25, 2018 I dont agree leh. I remembered when I was in Tuas and after waiting for 30mins, this double decker, bus number 257 arrived. It was a sunday, so frequency was 30mins. The damn bus broke down later!!! Had to wait for another 30mins for the next bus to arrive. Ya, it was the old Leyland. The bus tow truck came faster than the next bus!!! After the bus was towed away, the bus driver stayed with us at the bus stop and took the next bus back to Boon Lay interchange with us. Bus frequency in Tuas area always very long de, i also took once before back then, not only waited very long for the bus but the bus route also took very long before reaching interchange. Think those Leyland non air-con buses condition seems not very well maintain, i remember i often see them break down. ↡ Advertisement

DACH Supersonic June 25, 2018 Share June 25, 2018 Yeah i rmb reading, quite nice to see it cos by the 80s it wasn't that commonly seen alr. Anw, I rmb riding on these Leyland Olympians (non aircon) as a kid last time, miss those buses, still felt pretty sturdy even though they were almost at the end of their lifespan when I took them They were quite well maintained by SBS even when they were going to be scrapped. 13177 Hypersonic June 28, 2018 Share June 28, 2018 I have a question, thought all buses are now under LTA, and according to them all buses would be standardize in one colour which is green. But how come they dont repaint all buses ah?
Beehive3783 Turbocharged June 28, 2018 Share June 28, 2018 Wouldn't that be a waste of money? It's wise to be prudent during these tough times. I'm sure repainting one bus isn't cheap. I have a question, thought all buses are now under LTA, and according to them all buses would be standardize in one colour which is green. But how come they dont repaint all buses ah? Only the buses bought after GCM implementation are under LTA.

So those existing fleet buses, some are green some are not. For all brand new buses bought under GCM, it is default painted in green.

Yamapi 6th Gear December 26, 2018 Share December 26, 2018 (edited) Farewell, SBS Transit Volvo B10M buses. Once a common sight on the roads, the Volvo B10M is now relegated to history. According to wiki, SBS Transit purchased 977 units between 1988 and 2000, making up a large part of its single-decker bus fleet. SBS has been phasing out the Volvo B10M buses since 2008, and the final batch retired last week. Edited December 26, 2018 by Yamapi
DACH Supersonic December 26, 2018 Share December 26, 2018 Oh well, the once mighty B10M fleet eventually comes to an end. ↡ Advertisement
