If you've got time and is knowledgeable enough on how to clean car. Maybe you can try DIY cleaning on weekends. It can also be a bonding time for you and your kids (if you have any). Despite that I much prefer to let my car washed on shop sometimes I also try DIY car wash as I find it satisfying and fulfilling.

I wouldn’t trust my kid with car wash. Sit the car only , glove box or back seat all his shoe marks, windows all his finger prints....wash car......don’t dare to imagine

Many people choose to wash their car at home and I think it's an effective way to save your car paint. Just searching for the DIY car wash tips and instructions. I believe that you can do it yourself. You can also wax and polish your car by yourself. It's nice for the weekend.

What products you use?

Sharing my field report.

I recently tried the pilot self-washing station installed at selected HDB carparks. For my estate, it is on trial from 1 June to 31 dec 2021.

I personally find it nice and worthwhile and will use it again.

My process:

1. Pre-rinse. $1 for 3 minutes jet spray.

2. $0.20 to fill up 1 pail water for shampoo.

3. Post-rinse. $1 again.

Total damage for water = $2.20.

I like the jet spray. Feels shiok. I think it is not very powerful type like the one used in petrol stations, but just hold it near around 1 foot away from surface is good enough.

But if popular it will be a long queue as the station can only serve 1 slot of the dual slot washing bay. I think the jet spray hose cannot reach the other side of the 2nd car slot.

I was there on a hot afternoon (off peak) and there was no one else.

I avoid using the vacuum as I find it unhygienic, just personal.
