Acer service centre at IBP (International Business Park), just one station away on EW line.

If it is a laptop, try press and hold the power button for 3-5 secs, till it switches off?

Thanks holding power button sometimes turns off sometimes doesn't.

But when I turn on again the screen doesn't appear.

Was fine yesterday.

Only 18 months old.

It's my sil computer and she asked me to update all programmes etc which I did and it was working fine until this morning.

Watch YT huh...?

JK.

Most likely the update wasn’t fully completed before power down.

Remove lappy battery and it rest for 10mins then power on with plug in cord and hold on to the On button at the same time. My IT colleague said one.

That way always worked on all my android phones whenever got jammed up.

Hope this helps.

Hi Neutrino,

Is this an ultrabook?  I had a similar case where my child's Acer S5 screen just went blank few months back and it was due to a defective LCD screen.  The laptop was only 2 months old then.    Luckily I bought a 5 years extended warranty  [laugh]

Or it could also be due to issues with the graphics driver after updating?   Try connecting it to a external monitor to verify this.

Cheers

Thanks all for advice.

I found a pin hole on back of laptop which was a battery reset button.

Inserted paperclip and held for 5 seconds.  This turned laptop off.

Left it off for five minutes and then restarted.

Can on/off now.

But strangely when I was doing all the updates yesterday it really speeded up the laptop.

But now it's back to it's previous slowness even though everything is up to date.

Anyone got an explanation for this???
