This one is because of the sharp turn up the hill. Those drivers driving older big truck need bigger turning radias to maintain certain speed to turn. If not once they stalled, it will be super difficult for these older big truck to restart engine and get moving up the steep slope.

 

I believe newer more powerful truck will not have issue if these lane markings are changed to the normal lane not this one.
