I was searching online for information regarding the AdvancedCarEye.. but found very little documentation.

The installation instructions found here indicated software update if firmware is "earlier than V1.01-1.4".

I haven't received my car yet so can't check the firmware version or try the software update.

 

Can someone check the firmware on your AdvancedCarEye and post here please?

The actual Korea manufacturer, Mando is only selling this camera for $238 (if include outside installation of $50 will only be $288) while Performance Motor is selling for $1040.

If PML did not give any camera, I would rather buy Blackvue DR650S-2ch ($650) or Thinkware F800 or F770 ($600) or IRoad V9 ($619) or Iroad T10 ($689).

Outside installation only cost $50 to $80.

If worry about voiding the BMW waranty for parking mode, can always purchase an additional Blackvue cellink battery which cost $220 to $320 (parking mode hours range from 10 hours to 36 hours). Much longer than the 6 hours parking mode by BMW advanced car camera tapping on the car battery.

All these do not have format problems and they come with wifi and app and can take up to 128G sd card.

Do I need to disconnect the BMW Advanced Eye car camera if I go on 1 week holiday? Will it auto cut off the power after a certain period to prevent battery draining?

From pml, advance camera eye n $ voucher are standard with any bmw purchase. No need to ask even.

I collected my ride just earlier this month and although I'm not a Corp client, I signed and paid $2k++ for the BSI+.

The BMW Connected app (I use Android version) uses Google maps for location searches. I find it more straight forward to launch the app, search and send to the vehicle.

Agree, I use the BMW Remote App (for Android) it's much quicker to send destination location directly to the car, simply key in postal code in search, tap the red pin (destination) and press "Send to Vehicle"

I will like to seek advice from the bro here. What is the big different between PI 216 and AD 216? Seem like the spec is the same and yet PI is like 15k cheaper than AD model. Hmm.
