Welcome! PI selling at $159k not worth it I feel although it's a petrol variant and better hp.

This car has many electronics so for peace of mind, better to get AD support.

I am curious though on how this 218i compares to the 216d but guess it will not be possible to compare.

eh still no breakdown yet ah :D  :D  [thumbsup]

Guys, I noticed that 216d does not come with the model 216d behind the car. The Active Tourer 218i however has the model 218i behind the back of the car. Does anyone know why is this the case?

I'm not sure of the reason behind this but guess since they only sell one model, no necessity to put this? The AT 218i is the petrol version but I'm not sure if the new diesel AT will also not have anything behind?

The AT also only one model when launched but they still put 218i behind, no excuse not to put the model number.

The new 7 Series also one model. Can you imagine BMW does not put 7.40Li behind?

216d feels like not been highly regarded by BMW.

New 7 series should have few variants to be sold here I believe though not yet available locally.

Agree whether or not 1 model, they should put the model no. behind.

I'm not sure if 216d is highly regarded or not but it's proving to be a volume seller at least here as I've seen a lot of them on our roads (more than AT for sure and maybe even the 116).

It is serving to be an entry level car for many 1st time BMW owners so if you are right then I would say BMW is silly as a whole lot of potential new market BMW customers awaits them.

Today's ST classified. ..a PI has brought in the 218i at about 159ķ...

On a separate note, can mcfers who have bought the 216d confirm if their rides are equipped with the driving assistant plus feature please? Apparently, that comes with cruise control with distance keeping....

I agree with you on the potential of the 216d and personally like the car a lot.

It seems to me that the base model of the 1, 2 and 3 series do not have model numbers like 116, 216 and 316.

This to me is like a lack of respect shown by BMW to the owners of these cars.

Even Merc's A-Class or B-Class base models will have their model numbers/names shown.

And I don't think this is difficult to remedy.

Maybe I am the only one particular over this. Haha...

Model Designation Delete is a factory option. Seems like PML does not like the X16 moniker, so they brought them in with this option.

You can purchase it as a label to apply on your BMW

Hi, may I know which PI brought the 218i in?

Sony I didn't want to mention which PI cos I don't owe them a living and there are also mixed reviews about their reputation. I don't want to be 'blamed' for unwitting endorsement.

Electronic not necessary only AD knows how to solve it. Sometime, AD may not know how to solve it.

Take the spec & compare. PI spec sure worst than AD.
