I just signed up with vivifi 'cos they have some promo going on for their 3rd anniversary.  Got the 50GB plan for wife and kid, come with extra 30GB per month for 1st year...@$16 a month.

as I am a light user I took up 9GB plan for $9 a month with the option to top up $2 a month for another 11GB data.  Not bad.

all in $5 cheaper than giga per month.  Can buy chai png 😀

Ya lo, i no scare and worry that they bring along the number i had for 20 years, but i more scare and worry they bring along the quite nice number i had lo. If the number i have is not nice de, they can take it. 😂

I wonder if IMDA has any regulatory terms that compel telco to give customers enough time to switch if they were to cease operation?

Google found 1 case, Grid Mobile, which ceased operation in Dec 2021, they make announcement 2 months in advance and also offer to port over their customers to GOMO. Grid is a joint venture between Singtel and ST Telemedia. Don't know how will the smaller ones behave.

Yes, based on my google skills zero1 is cheapest.  $5 plan is available from TPG but only for seniors.  Me not qualified yet 😀

Between TPG and zero1 i will go for the latter.  Singtel network is definitely better.

I am currently on GOMO, Circles, Zero1 for my family.

Can check if any of these sim-only data plan providers comes with 5G? Or do I need to subscribe to a higher 5G plan for them?

Forward planning because my next change of phone should be one that is 5G enabled.

thats true.  But i hardly used it anw cos both parties need to be on Volte for it to work.

Main reason why I need to switch is because I am going back to office on some days and giga has quite a few blind spots.

Switch to those network using Singtel should be ok. Starhub has been in sg for so long liao and yet dont know why their network still can have blind spots?

i havent started using vivifi, just signed up with them.  Last I used singtel was 10 years ago and the coverage was very good.  now should still be the strongest nw based on what i read in hwz.

after singtel, I switched to M1 for about 8 years.  It was good initially but later the network became really slow.  i read it was because M1 leased out its bandwidth to MVNOs like circle and myrepublic...these are really generous in giving out huge data bundles.  So I switched to giga but had no chance of testing it in office till now cos i was wfh full time for the last 2 years.

What made me stick to Giga was actually VoLTE. I was planning to switch over to Singtel but quite surprise most MVNO do not support VoLTE.

Your office location is at some ulu ulu area ah? How come can have blindspots and need to change to a singtel network to support? I find even starhub seems coverage not say 100%, but for me i can still use them without any problem. I find no matter Singtel, M1 or Starhub, doesnt affect me a lot when use in sg. But if go overseas, i still prefer Singtel.
