Michelin. So far is no horse run regardless or where it is made.

Just changed to Michelin Primacy4 yesterday. Also made in Thailand. Previously was only Thailand XM2. XM2 clocked almost 60k (2.5 years).

My Michelin XM2 tyres have been for about 5 years. Robust indeed.

drive like this, simi tyre also not much diff lah

Even within the speed limit, it makes a difference when you to apply emergency brakes or when it rains. Wet and dry grip is very important.

my is Honda Civic . 215/55-16

pls advise

If I were you, I would decide the size and profile of the tyre and search for reviews of both brands and then compare.

Lasting is important so save money . Good grip but I am not speedster .

if your civic is the old model, should be 16'.

michelin model highly likely to be energy saver or xm2. both this model is very lasting

if17' + should be ps4. life span for this is average or normal.

dunlop 16' make in japan, if veruo 303 , the advantage over michelin is the quietness. energy saver and xm2 after some time become noisy .

frankly its hard to recommend or commend without knowing the model.

and regrading lasting, u take tyres that last long only if u are a high mileage driver , taxi grab driver.

why i say so? because if u are low mileage,  your tyres 3-4 years already , the thread still very deep, but all rubber after 3-4 years become very hard, then u will have a tough dilemma on changing or not changing to  a new set

Time to change tyres.

Yes time to change.

This time I'm looking for Asian goods.

I'm evaluating Bridgestone Ecopia EP300 and Yokohama Bluearth AE51.

Singapore we don't drive long distances so lasting tyres don't really matter.

What we have is wet weather and start stop traffic.

And sometimes we need to brake harder and eco tyres are bad at this.

No point saving money and hitting the car in front.

I was at Ubi car workshops and saw all the cars that were waiting to be repaired.

7 out of 8 smashed up cars had the same brand eco tyre.

When I saw this I thought this is the only tyre I will never use

and no matter the price I will fit it on my MIL's car.

Totally agreed.

Like saving just a few hundred dollars in fuel costs throughout the few years of using those eco tyres, and just that one time when the tyres fail to stop in time or some other way and one gets into accident, the damages and insurance costs will be much higher.

Safety is still number one.

Supplementing my above statements, avoid China-brand tyres.

Looks like verdict is Michelin

Workshop recommended  Michelin primacy 4 ST @ $165

How does this compare to XM2 ?

you should consider michelin primacy 4 if you want more comfortable ride and less wear on tyre  and less tyre noise.

if you want better grip than michelin pilot sport 4 but the tyre wears out faster and will be noiser.
