99% of people jaywalk, never check for any oncoming vehicles and simply just step out. Or they see oncoming vehicles and yet still step out, hoping vehicles would give way to them.

My answer is this

Young ma, so body super resilient and can withstand anything.

When old liao, any impact also can get serious injury.

True, the after effects usually might come later, there might be some internal injuries which would not happens straight away.

Nowadays people are very sensitive to horn. Cannot kanna horn you know, lose face a lot, and must strike back.

So I just refrain from pressing the horn esp if i can already see and avoid.

Foreigner's culture and norms can be very different from ours here and it might be entirely ok in his country to cross the road like that. Carrying on with his norms in other countries with different traffic culture can get him killed but that's his problem.

Was listening to a radio chat in the morning and this filipino said that back in the homeland, in a crowded eating place with no seats available, it is perfectly ok to approach diners who are clearly finishing up their meals whether they will be leaving soon and then stand there waiting for them to leave. But over here in SG, as people are generally more uptight and less communicative with strangers, it is considered offensive and people would feel that they are being hurried to leave.

Didn't know that.
