39-year-old man charged with mischievous arson after he was arrested for allegedly setting fire to National Day decorations.

The police issued a document yesterday said that a report was received on the 10th of this month at about 1:30pm, referring to a man allegedly setting fire to National Day decorations at 115A group house, Canberra Walk.

After police opened an investigation and scanned the e-screens, quickly locked the man's identity, arrested him within 6 hours. A man is due in court today on charges of a prank arson.

Once convicted, they could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison plus a fine. (Article: Liu Gao Le) (Image: courtesy of the interviewee)

Almost horizontal there...the wind must have pulled him out of his intended manoeuvre...however, he seemed to recover later but I guess it's a little too late to make amend to land safely...

To land on the raised stage platform definitely better than on the hard tarmac but maybe not enough height to reach there liao...tarmac was the lesser risk than the railing...

A split second decision...glad it turned out well enough for him...

Not exactly

Almost horizontal (is actually on purpose) becos he was “attacking” the flight path fast to descend fast to hit his target.

as he descended, crosswinds make it difficult to control the flight path.  Especially in the last leg as i shared many times, the jumper must approach in a straight line.  Just like an aeroplane landing , it must descend in a straight line and then onto the runway straight.  Same logic.

crosswind was pushing him to his left in his final leg.  Worse, into the railing.

Imagine a plane trying to hit the runway straight but is getting pushed to the left by a mysterious hand. Surely miss the runway.

Looks like it's time for me to upgrade my phone to one with a longer zoom and with reasonable clarity.

There are indeed a few youtube videos showing that cross-winds could be so strong that they blew big planes like Boeing 747s and Airbus 380s off a straight path.

Yup exactly like that, sure crash .   Imagine you add a building near the left side of the plane.
What will the pilot try to do?  Avoid at all cost!   Sweat…..

same same for the jumper.
