I read your 23/24 posts in another thread that you won't consider an EV due to the lack of charging infrastructure at your place.  The EV rollout finally reach your place or you manage to work around it via Tesla's supercharging network?

My older posts? Yeah. Back then, I wasn't sure how easy or difficult to charge. Some of the old birds told me to change my mindset to charge as I go. I bought a cheapo an EV to try what he suggested and the rest is history. Nvr find it a chore to charge cos either I charge at office or when I cut my hair, run errands at  at malls. The place of worship I go also has charging nearby with practicularly no one charging during weekends. 

I also said I wont buy tesla 😂 cos it is too button-less. My transition EV gave me a good glimpse into EV and further transition to button-less tesla is less daunting. The technology of Tesla, app connection (100% connection so far for me) and OTA is simply superb. Not all EV has such app connection and OTA. 😉 In summary, well, I ate all my previous words. 😁😄 

Best of all, just last week, my home car park finally has charge+ in operations! 🥳

The power of Tesla, once you are converted and you buy into their tech ecosystem, there is no turning back, everything else looks sucky and the design just grows on you.

Charge+ at 47cts (after Yuu 18%) is pretty unbeatable for public charging.

I been cursed with SP at my home carpark. 🤮

When I go ev likely will be a Tesla too. I buy the product for what it is. Who cares about Musk. Best product so far for all in integration and best efficiency for drive train and power to weight ratio.

Still havent check out Yuu card. Just trying to avoid too many CCs. I got Maybank family&friends cc. It already gives 8% for any transport related charges, so I may just stick to this cos my office is SP. SP is super ex. 🤬

Agree on the design! When MYJ just came out, I was like "gosh, cant they do better?". Then I saw one on the road with the light bar on, I am sooooold! It really grows on you. 😍

App connection is something that cant be tested in every scenario during testdrive until one owns the car. My office and home car parks are in basement and my transition ev cant connect at times. Tesla app connection is sooo amazing that I even know what speed my wife is driving at whenever she uses the car!

I also think this is the problem with chinese EVs. Cars are so ex in SG that imagine one purchases a chinese EV at start of the year and it is outdated within the year. Isnt it just killing itself and its own brand? 😅

For me I love the Tesla ecosystem but I also feel there are nicer EVs out there.

The neue klass X3 looks promising (except for the nose) but as usual it’s above my pay grade 🥺

With Chinese competitiveness, Chinese EV maker will face the same problem in most export market.

Used car market will have problems selling trade-in car.

Why outdated? The design or the tech?  

On design, got to buy something that you can live with as it is hard to keep up with each new model given the competition in some market.  Somehow a old BMW with old design language still looks good due partly to its branding.  The CN EV players don't have the legacy nor the branding, only tech.

Tesla's design are pretty dated actually. 5-10 years and they hardly changed.  Improved but still .... Elon is just good at marketing his evergreen design as simi design language while saving shitloads of money, using his mould/ casting machines a zillion times in the names of efficient design while he poured most of his money into robotaxis and other areas.

Cars are so expensive here people have confirmation bias.  Sorry bro, no offence hor.  Just a discussion. Happy to hear other views.

Haha...  We are on the same page.  But if I buy an EV, it will likely be a Tesla too, the drive, tech and price/ performance ratio are pretty good, suits me as I prioritize good handling and a responsive throttle. But I can see why others are buying CN, German and KR EV. Everyone has different criterias.

If only the Tesla looks better, like the Ioniq 5 N, the one in the showroom at Leng Kee is damn chio. 😂

Design and features wise definitely the Chinese are way ahead. Yes some will fail, some are useless but they are trying hard. 

Xiaomi in particular is innovating in terms of interior and user interface, like detachable/moveable toggles/buttons, and display right at the bottom of the windscreen. 

Tesla? Still a glued on tablet. Yeah 1 tablet with even more functions in it.

I love the 5N too. But the price and road tax not good for me.

The facelift for Ioniq 6 looks good too! I realise I like slit headlamps 😑
