Need to maintain both drivetrain.

Electric drivetrain is simpler to maintain.
It faces the same battery degradation like EV.

Hybrid road tax is like ICE, is EV that is absurdly high. A kona EV is 1.6K road tax annually but hybrid and ice counts the same way if I'm not wrong, so 1.6cc is about 750 annually?

Honestly, if u want something short term either 2nd hand car, or those B&B cars. Expensive still, but is the cheapest of the lot now still. Talking about cars like Avante, Altis, Cerato. Then maybe when prices down can trade in for an EV. 

 

If not consider other EVs like Kona, Ioniq or MG ZS

Even the so called B&B cars also very ex. I see the price for avante, cerato and altis all same level, around $140k siah! 😲

"To find out your road tax, calculate road tax twice: first based on your car's engine capacity, then based on its maximum electric power rating. The higher amount will be the road tax you have to pay.

From 1 January 2021, road tax payable based on maximum electric power rating shall be computed using the revised road tax schedule of electric cars for road tax payable between 1 January and 31 December 2021, and from 1 January 2022 onwards respectively."

EV is supposed to pay more upfront.  But the saving is during usage.

It is a disadvantaged low mileage car.

The charging station are also slow charging… even Shell’s charging is consider slow.. as compare to Tesla one.. dunno should i make the move to EV now.. i scare of inconvenience…

Erm for hybrid i tot the road tax is based on the Cc of the engine?

Ya, i think so too.. but i am waiting for ioniq 5… dunno the price how much.. so dunno should now change hybrid or wait for ioniq 5… 🤔

For EV, the best option still Tesla. Have both charging options.

thought shell got the 50kW or coming soon is the 150kW one

seems like budget is not that big a factor if u are waiting for ioniq 5 and u r prepared for the EV charging and all too. it will prob be the same price as a Tesla, don't expect it to be below 200K for sure.

to future-proof, EV plus now got all the early incentives and all. hybrid is not bad besides kia would prob use the same type of hybrid engine as the one on the Sorento, which heard its not too bad either. just go test drive lor and see if you really like it...cars will generally get more expensive and the high coe only matters in future when u want to sell it...then harder find buyer but if u wan ride it out until 10/15/20 years, I think just a matter of preference. when ioniq 5 will come, no one knows also tbh. ev6 come faster than that

Ioniq 5 will release early next year after SG factory complete construction at end of the year… but pricing shud be nearer to EV6 price unless assembled in sg is alot cheaper…
