Dear Run, Flat Tires users, anyone of you change to normal tires after which?

Does the car behave differently after changing to normal tires?

Thank you.

When I first bought my C180 back in 2016, it came with run flat continental, 6 months later I decided to change to normal Michelin Primacy 3, I clearly remember the ride became softer, petrol consumption also became slightly better as I recorded with and without run flats, about 10% higher. Handling wise also seems more responsive.

RFT only Pro is safer than normal one especially puncture during high speed

that's all I noticed

after using for 2 over decades

normal tyres got too many Pros to mention

My vote is Normal better unless you are working in construction field

Then stay RFT

my 2psi worth of pressure

alot of ppl who is on run flat will change to normal tyres. the solution is good that when you encounter a puncture, you can still continue to run at 60/70km/h/

But the downside is everyday you have a much harder ride. Give me I would like to drive my car more comfortable. hahaha.

Yes.

There was a discussion on this topic somewhere in this forum.  Cannot find it now.

BMW M3 owner manual recommends that.

Can just lower the psi in RFT by 2psi or so to make it more pliant?

It will worsen the ride quality.

More weight will be sitting on the stiff sidewall.

Rft is for convenient. How many high end car user want to sweat it out to replace spare? or waste time to wait for 24/7 tyre service to reach your car to do a patch up?

I would say 70% of high end car user for BM, Benz will want this convenient.

20% of those user will still choose normal over rft, because this group spend all their money on the car, they got no money left to even replace tyres.

Then the last 10% which mostly here in MCF, is those that really want performance. 😁

I use because of the idrive vehicle status system and safety lor 🙊

LL suck thumb 🙈

as for convenience I totally agree 👍

it is better to have a tyre sealant cum compressor repair kit in the boot whether is RFT or normal one

my 2ml worth of sealant 🤝

my friend RR also keep his RFT

cos kiasi 🤫

many drivers swop to normal but no spare in boot 🙈🙊🙉
