The C10 Plus now incorporates an 800V architecture that improves the drive train efficiency and DC fast charging capabilities. A few things to note on the change in spec sheets of the C10 Plus vs. the older C10: Architecture: 800V (+400V vs. the older 2024 model)😃 DC fast charging: 180kW (+96kW more than the older 2024 model) AC charging: 11kW (+4.4kW more than the older 2024 model) Motor power output: 220kW (+60kW more than the older 2024 model) Torque: 360 Nm (+40Nm more than the older 2024 model) Battery capacity: 81.9 kWhr (+12kWhr more than the older 2024 model) Maximum speed: 190 km/hr (+20 km/hr more than the older 2024 model) Acceleration time (0 to 100 km/hr): 6.2 second (-1.3 seconds better than the 2024 model). Not that it would matter here in Singapore with the neutered 100kW motor output. WLTP range: 510 km (+90km more than the older 2024 model)👍 Claimed drivetrain efficiency: 15.1 kWh per 100 km (-3.7 kWhr per 100km better than the older 2024 model)😁 Kerb weight: 2,055 kg (+75kg heavier than the older 2024 model) 😮 Maximum carrying capacity: 405kg (-75kg less than the older 2024 model).☹️ Due to the increased battery capacity size and bigger motor. Rest of the specs looks to be the same. The C10 Plus operating system is now on version 4.0, will have check out some reviews if the bugs have been addressed. Still no Apple Car Play or Android Auto, so this might be a show stopper for some. Price of the C10 Plus over the causeway has gone up by around RM$23k. Mainly due to the expiration of EV tax incentives on 1-Jan-2026. So Stellantis/Leapmotor will now have to pay import duties and taxes for every C10 Plus - which is being passed down to their customers. This has resulted in a drop of sales for the C10 in past two months, see chart below. At the start of 2026, the C10 was at No.16. Currently C10 is at No.19 in EV sales for Malaysia. So the C10 model isn't doing so well and showing a trend of weak sales in Q1 2026. 3000 Protons for just a month and just a model !!?? With 800V architecture, on paper it outguns the Sealion 7 in efficiency and 0-100 6.1 on paper also slightly faster. 220kW is also nicely just under the LTA 230 kW road tax cliff. Plus BYD SG is money jiangshi so got space to undercut a lil bit. Edited April 7 by Ake109
steveting99 3rd Gear April 7 Author Share April 7 @L23 Over the causeway, Proton is doing quite well with the eMas5 (a re-badge version of the Geely EX2 or the Geely Xingyuan). The main reason is the competitive pricing by Proton of the eMas 5 starting at RM56.8k for the Prime version. Add an extra RM13k and one steps up the Premium version. The number of BEV registrations by Proton speaks for themselves, see the following table on a trailing 12 months basis for the top 20 BEV vendors. As of March 2026, Proton has surpassed BYD as the No.1 BEV seller in Malaysia. Proton's 12-month trend looks to be accelerating, while BYD's is flat or steady-steady at around 14.5k units a year. Due to the middle east war and resultant high petrol price, the demand for affordable BEVs in Malaysia will increase throughout the year. Hazard a guess that BEV's will be in the high single digit or possible double digit range for new car registrations. Next quarter should give a better picture of the trend. For Stellantis / Leapmotor, the rise on BEV demand over the causeway means only one thing. They need to bring the affordable B03X model into the market and compete against the likes of Proton eMas 5 / BYD Atto 3 / Wuling Bingo / GWM Ora Good Cat / Dongfeng Box E3 / Perodua QV-E / MG 4. The question is if Stellantis / Leapmotor can bring the price down to RM60k range for the B03X. That's going to be hard to do with Malaysia's version of game of thrones in the automotive industry. But then again, C&C are also known to be money jiāngshī (吸血鬼) on the C10 model in Cat A territory - so not holding out much hope that C&C will change their ways if the C10 Plus is brought over from across the causeway. Cycle & Carriage (C&C) can bring in the C10 Plus as a Cat B model and undercut BYD. I.e. take some market share from the leader in Singapore. The existing C10 can remain in Cat A - if C&C want to keep the Cat A option. Or bring the B10 over from the causeway and make it Cat A territory. There's also the upcoming B03X city roundabout that can be made as Cat A. The multiple model approach is a winning strategy that BYD is employing to become No.1 ride seller here in Singapore and eventually replicate elsewhere. Wil see if C&C is going to adopt this method to get Singaporeans to open their wallets. With 332k rides facing CoE expiration in the next four years, BYD is definitely going to catch wave of new rides coming into the market. Its a question of C&C wanting to catch the wave or not? Edit: The lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support on both the C10 and C10 Plus will be a deal breaker to some. Leapmotor still needs to work on ADAS and improve the user experience - this might also be a deal breaker to some who cannot tolerate the annoying beeps and bongs the system puts out. steveting99 3rd Gear May 2 Author Share May 2 Common sense has prevailed! steveting99 3rd Gear Friday at 04:50 AM Author Share Friday at 04:50 AM (edited) The facelifted 2026 C10 has been unveiled over in the mainland (China). Expected to be released on 16 June 2026, the 2026 C10 has a few external changes. The front headlights have changed to a chequered LED daytime running lights joined by a light bar and sitting above new vertical headlights - similar to the B10. There's also 20" double-spoke alloys that replace the previous Maserati-inspired “Trident” rollers. Overall length has increased by +10mm, but you wont notice it. The width and height remains unchanged as well as the wheelbase. The interior has undergone a makeover. The older C10's featureless dashboard has been replaced by a new layered design that neatly hides the ambient lighting. Come with a Heads Up Display (HUD).👍 It's now paired with more ornately-decorated door cards Cupholders are horizontally aligned rather than vertical as per the older model. Still with only one wireless charger. Front seats now have zero gravity feature. The front seats also comes with an ottoman with lumbar support. There's also a nice flip down tray behind the front passenger seat. Rear cup holders is now an integrated hidden compartment within the center console. A shame Leapmotor didn't offer a fridge/heater as it would be more useful. At least the rear air vents are manually adjustable - rather than having to go through the front touchscreen. Rear seats remain the same, which is a good thing. Lots of leg and head room with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fake leather seating that's supposed to be baby friendly. Now available in sandstone brown color option. Still no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto - which is going to be a continual deal breaker for some. Will post an update once more details for the facelifted 2026 C10 are made available. Interested to see if those annoying driving features have been addressed. Over the causeway, there's been an update called the C10 Plus. Annual sales seems to be increasing, but a relatively slow pace.
