Saw some LED bulbs that can fit the parking light (dim light in the headlamp housing). They are suppose to be really bright yet consuming less than 5W and operates cooler.

Not cheap at RM40 a pair [:/]

I'll try getting a pair and try first [;)]

Just want brighter and whiter dim light to accompany my fogs when I drive without headlamps on......don't flame me! I drive with my fogs only when there's drizzle or when the evening is cloudy before 7pm. [angelic]

Have you seen the LED replacement for bulbs in the RS catalog? They have a full range, from parking lights, reverse lights etc... Available in 12/24 volts, different ratings. Those are really expensive, maybe we can try to bulk purchase?

I've seen the LED replacement for brake lights in Thailand, can't remember the price, but the quality is poor... [:(]

Don't worry... so long as you don't turn on the rear foglight and piss the sxxt out those behind! I like to drive with the parking light+front foglight combination also. But need to watch out for TPs.

Which RS cataloge? The industrial parts supplier?

Headlamps must always be used at night but during day drizzles and cloudy days parking light/fog combo good enough [;)]

Yeah, check out their bulbs/lighting section.

The rule for foglight usage is actually during heavy downpours right? I'll use them in the day if visibility is poor.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check RS out and also Farnell cataloge [cool]

I use my foglamps during the day when lighting is bad, in fact my fogs are always on when the dim or headlamps are used. Never bothered to turn them off since they are factory items [;)]

I think that it is still an offence to use the fog lights regardless of the fact that it is factory item/fitted.

Many rules ah... [:p]

Was told by my friend who was booked before that the cop said it could only be used under terrible weather conditions or haze.

What the heck, so many other drivers are using anyway...

Good thing abt LEDs is that, not only they consume less energy, they lasts 'forever'! Unfortunately, my parking lights are halogen and I don't know whether I can get a suitable fitting or not. [:/]

In fact I got 55W halogen reverse lights installed sometime back, much brighter compared to the standard 21W tungsten lamps. [cool]

There are some LEDs in the market with the "wedge" connector suitable for parking lights and also LED brake lamps that have the 15d or 15s connector we can use. So far I've only found US and UK based sites....to lecheh to import some bulbs. I'll continue hunting and feedback once I find some locally or in JB [;)]
