sigh...FR cars really very different from FF cars.

Road wet abit and i cant go normal speed round corners. I wont be afraid to admit..my butt flew out and i was drifting liao ...got small accident...

i was SOOOO SAD mann....now i will drive damn slow...afterall...old car is old car..how fast can you push him?

Hi! jiayong,

welcome to MCF [thumbsup]

congrats on getting urself the takumi's car [laugh][thumbsup]

Fyi FR generally can eat corner faster than a FF car, reason being that FF tends to understeer while FR tends to oversteer. when understeer happens, u can do nothing but to slow down to allow the front tires to regain the traction (thus u can only go straight). however, for oversteer, the tail is thrown out, but u can still countersteer to correct the drifting, that's why u are actually faster than FF car of same specs when come to cornering, cos while they slowdown, u drift [sly][sly]

however, do not try to challenge the corners, it's always good to be slow than sorry rite? [thumbsup]

maintain ur cool and always go steadily [pirate]

just my 2 cents [angel]

heh....i better not...cos the owner and his friends and the car dealer frequent these forums...so not too nice.

All i can say that is well....if you have no passion for this car...u will definitely not pay the price i did for it. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

just like how pple would fork out money to buy the VW Beatle (the old model) and are willing to spend money to maintain it and stuff.

For me...i am still a student. I paid for it myself cept for the COE which i loaned from my dad (interest free) heehee.

All maitenance and insurance and tax ans stuff....all comes out from my small pocket. [:(]

well..i may want to sign up for the Toyota Club Sg if there are good benefits..hee...maybe if you guys are there too then can show u guys my car abit?

Engine is pretty "new" as the previous owner used his own engine and gave me the stock when i bought it over.

Anyways..i just dropped by my dad mechanic for a moment just now. He spotted a loose wire dangling amongst the engine area and he reconnected and taped it back.

Now my car feels smoother...just like it was before the accident.

But i will test it out for the next few days before putting my mind to rest.

Anyway..just posting my intentions for those who are a fan of initial d.

I will go for a full servicing and derusting job (not alot..just a little) and a new paint job. Intend to make it a replica of Takumis car. I even sourced out a shop willing to do the tofu decals already..=)

But UNLIKE takumis tofu car. I will corner at 20km/h. heehee. Sorry to have dashed all you guys hopes.

thanks for your advice. Its definitely more than 2 cents worth. I learnt my lesson from the accident and it was $200 worth.

Till my dad starts selling Tofu over to some shop behind the Kent Ridge bends, i will stick to 20km/h.

are you meeting the local Levin/Trueno group often??....i met one of them, he drives the most "original" Initial-D drifter in sgp (he is working with some local car magazine)....... the lettering decals on his car are so detailed that the dimensions are exactly the same to the nearest mm of the original versions (whatever this meanslaugh.giflaugh.gif) .......

if you are not, i can help you contact the group.... btw, did you buy yours from one Mr Chiu??? ...

b-btw, i olso got an old toyota, i think one of the oldest toyota in town, but it's very plain..... smile.gifsmile.gif

It sounds SERIOUS alright! [thumbsdown][thumbsdown]

First of all, I think you should @#$%^!* the mechanic, a.k.a. [mad]

the @#%^@*%! who sold you the car, for

1. selling you a vehicle with problems,

2. did not rectify the problem immediately, although you would have suffered

psychological trauma already even if he did, and

3. Trying to make it sound like a SMALL issue.

If you don't react, he's taking you for a SUCKER! [bounce1][bounce2]

The last time I saw that symbol you are talking about,

my mechanic forgot to pour in the engine oil for me!~ [dead]

And I %#$%*& him upside down and asked for a free replacement!

but the damage was done. I threatened to sue him or write to the

papers.

=) i havnt met any of them other than 2 Levins in my school and another Trueno.. haha...yes..my school has a grand total of 4 AE86s!!!

I would like to meet the others and know more about the car...but i also abit shy lah..cos i am quite young and i am afraid others would laugh at me for buying the car out of passion.

This is my car in the background. The pic is taken from another post i found somewhere in this forum. This picture is taken at Racing Works at Ubi Industrial estate. It is not owned by a Mr Chiu =). Anyway..my number plate has been changed too...so that transfer fees would be cheaper.

In case the picture doesnt show..it is at this link. 3rd pic from top.

Thanks for your concern..i guess he dont think its a serious prob as he serviced it only quite recently himself. The wire that dropped out is really an unforseenable situation.

And besides, he has every right to think that it is not a big prob...cos...im a damn bad driver..you shall see me drive. [:/][:/]

Looks like there's some problem with your cooling system of your car, if there's no lost in coolant, than most likely there's a blockage somewhere & the coolant is not circulating. There could also be some problem with the thermostat sweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gif get your mech to check it nod.gifnod.gifnod.gif
