i am afraid others would laugh at me for buying the car out of passion.

Car enthusiasts will not laugh at you. Ever heard of the Citroen 2CV? 30HP ricketty pile of metal, gearshift stick on the dashboard, most are almost in no condition to be on the roads since some are made way back in the 1st half of this century. Enthusiasts buy it out of passion. I can only [thumbsup] to them. They are great little cars if they survived this far into the next century. It rivals the VW Beetle for the nostalgic cuteness factor.

Just in case you have no idea what it is, here is a pic.

Please help me guys. I will be going to a mecanic soon but i hope the understand the problem more first before going.

I have a 20 year old manual car.

It starts in the morning rather fine. It is recently that after travelling for awhile, when i slow down at a red light or if im searching for parking lot in a carpark, my engine just dies suddenly.

Even when i restart the engine...it seems like it is strugling and if i dont rev my engine...it has a 50-50 chance of dying again.

Also..there is a meter in my car. It looks like a tap with a drop of water spilling.

the extreme left of the meter has a "C" and the extreme right has a "H". Normally its at C but when this problem occurs, the needle will go all the way to "H".

Please give me advice or ask me questions if you need more information.

This thing happened to me on 2 occasions on my dad's old car b4 we sold it. One was due to the oil filter actually clogging up and no fuel was actually pushing through. The other was due to a faulty component in the carburettor. However, dun have this water issue. I did have overheating but that was due to the radiator fan that went kaput. U might like to check these 2 issues plus wat the other forumers have advised.
