Dear gurus :

Since yesterday, my idling rpm drops intermittently from normal 700 to about 300 rpm causing the car to vibrate.

Problem is not obviouos when air-con is swithed off.

Appreciate any advice on what could be the problem and how to resolve it, please.

Sounds like Sticky Idle-valve sensor to me...where the amount of air regulated in your case is not consistent..

Get it checked...sometimes, if u are lucky it may only need cleaning, else, they may change the whole valve.wink.gif

Supersonic

nowadays 'servicing' is onli simple a oil & filter change and maybe top up a few fluids here n there. doubt it has anything to do wif the idling problem.

check to see if this problem occurs if the aircon is ON or OFF.

Then turn OFF the aircon and see if it still occurs when the fan cuts in.

If the problem manifests during aircon ON, then it could be that your idle aircon auxiliary valve (IAAC) needs cleaning or replacement.

check if those guys did some tuning on your car...

new generation cars can reset ECU and all will be ok. lipsrsealed.gif

Same engine as the Ipsum then.. 2AZ-FE. Been experiencing the same problem... another Ipsum driver also has the same prob. Seems like got to do with the IAC which sits on the throttle body unit.....

if not mistaken, once the air con is off, the idling seems ok.

ok, so as audiorook mentioned, it's more likely your IAC valve (idle aircon auxiliary) valve. Yes it's got different names for the same purpose.

you either need to retune it back, or clean it or replace it...

if you got ECU diagnostic kit lagi better... but only provided that item failed.. if it's out of spec, not so easy to detect.

There are simple ways to tune it, but I only know for my sunny.gif... perhaps the concept would be the same.

to add on, perhaps you might want to check your air con compressor. It could be on its way to KO land...
