Sent the car to SA to resolve the engine overheat problem on Monday. Will be collecting it today.

SA added one fan to the radiator. Will try to get myself stuck in traffic jams to see if that did the trick.

What fan did they mate it with? I hope it is a Spal. These are superduper powerful fans from Italy. Else, there is a fan from US that is miles ahead in terms of technology. Variable blade pitch cooling fans. Stuck in traffic jam? Blades increase pitch and speed for more air. Racing up the highway, blades pitch down and lower speed. Neat and EXPENSIVE STUFF! shocked.gif

I did peep to look for a brand but couldn't find. May be I should ask Gilson about it later.

That was the third time I brought the car in for the overheating issues.

This time I even attached a letter, stating the problem , when it happened , my inconvenience and concern, to the Service form.

Anyway I did not realize there is enough space to put in another fan. If I am not wrong, one blow in, the other blowing out....

You should write directly o the service manager regarding your problem and mention that the car had been back for a few times and yet not rectified. [sly][sly]

Good for you bro [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

I think from now on, your overheating problems should be over [bounce1][bounce2]

Hmm......I think all Chevy owners should go look under their bonnets to see if they have two fans, if not, time to go SA bang table [smash][smash][laugh][laugh]

Will monitor the situation. Hopefully the problem does not recur and save me the trouble of doing that letter smile.gif

As long as you have two fans, you are safe. One is for the air-con and one is for the radiator.

Yes, both fans will turn on and off together when you switch on/off your a/c, that is normal.

Try running your engine to its normal operating temperature with your a/c on, and then switch off the a/c while leaving the engine running. At this point, both fans should be working.

huh? both fan off when you off the air-con? are you sure? though the radiator fan must always on, or the engine will get over heat espacially you caught in the jam [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

even with aircon OFF, the radiator fan will be working once the engine temp is reached.

and with the aircon fan ON, both fans would run together and cut off together.

No, I don't that is the problem because Starsauto have checked them on 3 different occasions and found that to be not the case.nod.gif
