Hi all

I did the Fusso 9 Month + Authentic Premium Wax last weekend on my yellow car and I have to say that I was rather disappointed with the overall result. At least the result is not as impressive as Bro Leonknapp.

My only conclusion is that either I am doing something incorrectly or my surface paint was in worse condition than I initially anticipate. I did not do any surface prep as my car is still relatively new and I dun have any major swirl marks.

I wanted to get the 7month for its cleaning + Sealant properities but Stamford was out so no choice stick with the 9 monhts. Went back and found out that I bought the white one instead. Dun think it really matter but there wasn't much of a shine to speak off when I finised applying the 9 months so I wondering if that is still true.

I let the car cure for about 15-16 hrs before going on to apply the Premium Wax the next day. It was my first waxing experience and I have to say that it is good exercise. [sweatdrop] Anyway, after waxing the car, the overall effect is kinda disappointing. I wasn't expecting a mirror or chrome like shine but to see the end result after all the effort is [smallcry]. I have definitely seen shinnier yellow car.

Nmind I shall persevere on and apply another layer this weekend. Hopefully the shine will be better this time.

hehe, I just got my 1st car, and I have not been washing car like 7 yrs on my bro's car and in my hometown, i got a good spray at home..... I am trying to find a kiosk very near my home, I spotted a shell petrol kiosk like 2 km from my home but dunno they do washing or not..will check tonite. I dont have any washing tools yet, will find tonite too..hehe. I prefer to keep it simple so may just get a sponge, a squeezee (dry up a bit), the scotch brite is OK?...only S$6.50??) and a few cloths to dry car. I have black altis.

BTW, how long to wait for Fusso 9 mths to cure?. Can I apply it and straight to wax?

NOOOOooooooo!!!!!!

Okay... *recovering* this is what I use...most can be had at Autobacs and Stamford.

- Get a good chennile sponge (Meguiar's). Else a good car sponge will do.

- Get a good car shampoo (NXT Car Wash, Autoglym; Polyglaze wld do fine)

- Get a good synthetic chamios (look out for those that look less plasticky - Autoglym is good but expensive; good with Series 500 --> cheap and good).

- Get some microfibre cloth (TurtleWax pack of 3 will do fine).

- 2 Pails, a small scoop (optional).

- Sponge / brush for rims.

SHORT INSTRUCTIONS (MY WAY - May differ from rest)

1. Use chennile sponge / scoop to water car, startin from top. Use hand to lightly wash car body. Water and hand to lift dirt and dust from body.

2. Pour ard 2 caps of shampoo in one pail. Start washing from top to bottom. Use light pressure.

3. When done, use sponge to wash underbody (sideskirt), tyre well and rims. Use brush to wash rims.

4. Use second pail of water to rinse car. Start from top. As with (1), use chennile sponge or scoop to do it.

5. Then use chamios to dry car. (absorbs water; will not trap grains of sand and stuff that will make swirl marks). Lay it flat and let it absorb water. No nid to use any pressure when drying car body.

Stay away from squeegue and scotch-brite..... u will scratch yr black altis [hur]

Rem. main contributor to swirl are your tools, the towels, sponges, particles in water.

Technically, nid to wait 12-24 hrs....but dun really matter. Can do wax after sealant if not particular.

U need a proper base - prep yr car body. Must say experienced the same thing with mine (silver) ride.

Use Klasse or Autoglym SRP to prep car body....then it will b great...

Okie I bought the following for car wash :

S500 Chamois cloth $7.20

Turtle Wax Miracle Towel $15.00

Armorall Car wash 1l blue S$9.50

Rain X Glass Cleaner $9.50

Going to Stamford this evening to get the sponge and brush for tyre/rim.

I am going to do wash, Fusso 90, and Iridium wax only. Is it good enough? can I skip the car prep? this round?. Not sure if I can survive the wash/sealant/wax at one go....haha

[sweatdrop][sweatdrop] .

Yeah. I think this pt must be emphasised more in the entire process. I kinda regretted not making the effort to prep the surface more. Oh well - live and learn.

I went ahead and apply a 2nd coat of wax and can see a slight improvement in the shine but I think the lack of surface prep probably did it in.

I'm going to lay off waxing for the moment and let the current coat wears off (6-8 weeks??). I'll probably clay then polish again before apply the Fusco 9-month. Hopefully I will get a better result this time.

Skip the car prep? Its up to you but the result will not be great. Read my experience and Bro Southpark replies.

Wash + Sealant + wax at one go will probably leave you exhausted unless you are damn fit. I spend a total of 4 hrs over 2 days last weekend to wash + sealant + wax. [sweatdrop]

Yesterday, I spend 3 hrs washing + waxing. My whole body is still aching but good excuse to go for a massage. [;)]

Thanks Lonewolf.

Me having no experience, I washed my 1st car and immediatley sealed it with Fusso 9.

For a while it was okay, until my bros commented it did not shine like theirs.

Tried different things, but no avail.

- Kizz CleaR

- Wax cleaner

- Wax, etc.

--> Followed by Fusso sealant.

It was until Autogylm SRP came along that made the difference as I used it to prep the car properly. It now shines as long as there is a hint of light.... [sunny]

Bro SouthPark, that sounds like my experience also. [;)]

But now that I got the Fusso 9 on, I guess I must let it wear down first before stripping it off. Would AG SRP do the job?? I know SRP contains some cleaner but jut wondering if it is enough to strip off the Fusso 9.

One more thing, do you still use Fusso 9 after SRP??

SRP shld be able to strip out Fusso9. (OPTIONAL: Apply mild pressure as indicated on the SRP bottle to give a bit of polish to the car body and to be doubly-sure Fusso gets stripped off).

Can apply Fusso9 after SRP as it has no cleaners. I had layered Fusso 12mth on top of SRP/EGP with no problems. [thumbsup]

The EGP is now making me lazy. I used to top it off with Fusso the next week after SRP/EGP....Starting to miss the beading of Fusso...sigh. Maybe when my EGP runs out I shall do a regime of SRP+Fusso.

By the second cycle u do SRP coating again the car shld be very sleek-looking. My schedule is something like once every 2-3 mths (more like 2 than 3)...

Hey, Bro SouthPark, appreciate your inputs and sharings.

Looks like one more product to invest in. Running out of space in my pail. [laugh]

Isn't EGP a pure sealant like Fusso9/Fusso 12? Seems kinda wasteful to layer Fusso 12 after EGP.

Okie i did my 1st car wash at HDB washing bay on Saturday. I spent about $2.40 on water. The reason i spent so much is that the chamois that i bought (the S500) and the turtle wax 3-piece towel, when i used it on the car after washing, the towels become like soapy... (I didn't rinse the tower, straight from the box), the car body become soapy, i wash the car with water again, and after cleaning like few times, the chamois still feel soapy. So got fedup i used Mr Cleaner detailing clothes to dty the car.

After drying, I 1st time use a sealant (fusso 9 months) - i apply it on the detailing clothe and wipe and buff on the car (how much should I use?.... i just whack only...hehe), since my car is new about 3 weeks, can I see a big difference?. The result from sealant, is a bit different - not sure if its pyschology. After the sealant, I straight away use the soft 99 iridium wax. As I am getting a bit tired and hungry, I apply a thin layer of wax and I forgot to leave it for a while, i immediately buff it...seems very easy to buff...... Took me 3.5 hrs to kautim my car, looks a bit better than the original state. My wife also said can see the different. But the effect is not as good as the 1st post here. So on Sunday....my bodyache like hell...abandon the cleaning of the dashboard and seat, will do it this weekend.

I think i will wait for another 3 months before I do it properly. Darn I forgot to take picture after the waxing for you guys to comment.. [thumbsdown]

Now you know why labor is the most expensive of all for detailing and not so much the products. Soon it will be medical bills and massage bills. laugh.gif
