Lonewolf Neutral Newbie October 18, 2005 Share October 18, 2005 So with Klasse AIO, there is no setting in time right?? Hmmm... think the choice is clear in this instance. Which wax I used?? Refer to thread#1. Authetic Premium. Why?? Well, cos I want a shinner look. Yeah, the plan is to layer wax after the sealant every month or so. Next detailing will do the whole wash-clay-polish-sealant-wax cycle again. ↡ Advertisement
Lonewolf Neutral Newbie October 18, 2005 Share October 18, 2005 Bro Tyming I agree with you that Fusso 9 month is difficult to see if you have applied becos it comes off quite easily and you dun really need to buff again. Only way is to do is slowly and one panel at a time. Be kia su a bit and overlap if not sure. That was how I do it. Also it is a good idea to let the sealant cure (at least 6 hours) before applying the wax.

Marcostan 4th Gear October 18, 2005 Share October 18, 2005 Brother Lonewolf, I believe u're using Fusso sealant. Due I do not hv any experience with this so no comment can give u. For Autoglym & Klasse sealant, they are giving u a very very shiny look. Just like a mirror. For Authetic Premium wax it shall give u a very wet look. Look like the water is droping from the car. Flashpal Neutral Newbie October 18, 2005 Share October 18, 2005 Hi Guys, This is my first post. Hope to learn something from all of u as i chat along. I had been using soft99 quite abit for waxes and certainly feel that the authentic premium (Gold packaging) and authentic excellent (platinium packaging) very easy to use. Premium gives a good wet look. Excellent gives a deep mirror shine. By far, excellent is the best carnauba wax (other than zymol) i tried and is worth its price definitely. It has a very soft paste and you may end up using it faster even if not careful. I use it every week - almost - as i like to have a slick feel especially after a good clay session. Note that slickness will not last more than 2weeks. Bro Gen2 confirmed this with me as well - with a smile. As for Fusso, it is not a very friendly product to use compared to some comparable brands out there. It provides a good protective coating nonetheless. It does its job no doubt. Sealant is just a protection to help lock in the shine. Hence it is hard to blame sealant for not doing its job if the shine at the clear coat layer is not ideal to begin with. Do not expect slickness out from sealant. Quick One is also a very interesting product. It's as if applying vaseline onto the car. Apply on and literally see it vanishes with a slick and shine. It is one of the least durable product as it is easy on, but easy off. Quick one is usually a lady's favorite start. Don't ever let a lady start with compound though. haha Kizz can be a rather difficult product to use for the novice. If applied carefully, it is said to help cover up some surface scratches. It is important to allow a 24hrs to cure. Using that, i may prefer to use a DA with #80 to do the job - with more ease. Recently, soft99 launched the manicure product. If you pop the cap, a familiar smell will ooze out of it... Not so nice to unviel the brand here that they probably OEM from. It sure is a form of sealant, but with new packaging and product image. Soft99 has the biggest brand equity in the consumer market for detailing products by far. But their biggest shortfall is in its non-English instructions and product descriptions. You literally have to try to guess very hard what the heaven it is about. Heavenly, nonetheless! It's interesting to see so many brands out there. Hope to learn more from experts here. Cheers Flashpal...
Toalson 1st Gear October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 Can you tell me more abt the manicure series?.... When I enquired at concorde auto, it was said to be for new cars My question is, how do the manicure compare to the the exisiting Fusso 3,6,9 or 12 mths? Clubace Clutched October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 Dont just use your eyes...use your fingers too......after u apply the sealant, the paint work will feel slick. But its better not to distrub it and see the effect the next day.
Flashpal Neutral Newbie October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 Bro Toalson Manicure is said to be applied on top of waxe(s) to enable it(them) to last a little longer. It is not true Manucure is meant for new cars, IMHO. Soft99 would not narrow their scope to only new cars. In fact, it may be difficult to define new cars as the paint finishes can always be reworked through its lifespan by machine buffing. Perhaps the best person to identify its application would be someone who can read Japanese. Unfortunately, I am unable to interpret anything out of it. IMHO, Fusso may do just a good a job. 3mths has abit of cleaning properties. 7 mth, 9mth, 12mth are primarily the same product with different concentration levels. Of course, the properties may differ slightly to make us think they are different. But frankly, would a sealant last for 12months on a vehicle we operate daily in a tropical weather like here? I don't own a Ferarri and so 12 mths would seem long and dreadful to let contaminations burn through the hand applied sealant layer. I do not intend to buy Manicure (yet) because it may be just another product line to gain market share. Soft99 has many different packaging of the same product - if you'd scrutinised carefully. Have you heard of Procter and Gamble? The name of the game is capturing existing market with multiple brands/products to gain a bigger piece of the pie. Look who's the winner? They often quipped. However, if any bro had tried it out with a wow exclaimation, I would not hessitate to try it out, too. My two worthless pennies only... hope it helped anyway. Flashpal... Toalson 1st Gear October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 Ok. So is manicure a sealant or wax? Tot its a wax, n thus I tot it should be sealant then wax?
Kanr 1st Gear October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 may be sealants, bro!!
Flashpal Neutral Newbie October 19, 2005 Share October 19, 2005 Bro Kanr is correct. Manicure is a sealant on top of wax. Hence, for a total makeover, they seem to be promoting: Shampoo Clay Wet Sanding Compound mild/coarse Silicon free spray Polish Sealant Wax Manicure Scaled down monthly routine could be this: Shampoo Clay Polish Sealant - optional Wax Manicure (too tired to apply when i reached this stage) Geki is a different variant from Fusso and Authentic. Apparently it is meant for a differnt application. Muahhhhh. Where does geki fit in then? May need a Jap gf to help me out. Flashpal...
Upguy Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Sorry for digging up an old (but popular) thread. thereis no necessity for so many steps in detailing a car esp if its light coloured. only, wash, claybar(if rough) polish then seal will do. As many gurus here have said, good prep surface is the key in bringing out the shine. Am currently using fusso 9 mth after touch up polish with TW swirlmark remover. Results in a good sheen which improves with subsequent layer of sealant. All products bought OTC , none online. jst my 2 cents worth

Garlic 1st Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 (edited) Saw this @ Stamford today: http://www.authentic-mania.com/products/wax_exce.html Its supposed to be the best carnauba wax in Soft99's range, cost $65 for a 200g tin. The english translation @ the back of the tin says its made from refined white carnauba. Anyone here tried it before? Southpark2000 Neutral Newbie January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 V good wax. Not myself personally as I am on an all-sealant regime...my bro did try it. Hope that helps....
Upguy Neutral Newbie January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 The above is the Authentic Excellent wax if im not mistaken. You are better off getting the authentic premium (gold container) which is at half the price and has about the same performance as the Authentic Excellent. Beading is great but protection lasts about 2 weeks. If your ride is light coloured or unless you are obsessive about deep wet mirror shine, you are better off with sealant.
