Replace with Tyre Inflater and Tyre Sealant Note: - In Singapore, for bad puncture, call tow truck. (anyway its free for those who are members of AA or STAR etc.) - Remember to put back spare tyre when travelling to Malaysia! Does the weight reduction help for better acceleration and fuel consumption? Understand that some of the new Continental models (e.g VW Golf) is doing this. (i.e. NO SPARE TYRE!) Silver_blade Turbocharged August 29, 2004 Share August 29, 2004 It does help to some extend, but it may also affect the weight distribution, but I guess ppl don't push their cars to the limit...so should feel much diff (of the wronf weight distribution issue). Those tyre inflater/sealant are bad for your tyre. Once injectedin to the tyre, the tyre has to be replaced. Those cars that doesn't come with spare tyres like, mini copper, VW glf, etc are running on 'run-flat' tyres which are very ex and it's also a case of, once tyre inflater/sealant is used = tyre to be replace. But the diff is that 'run-flat' tyre can still be used,without air, for over 15km. Tanzy Clutched August 29, 2004 Share August 29, 2004 My car doesn't have the spare tyre. Driving for so many years, I've only ever changed the tyres twice. Makes a lot of difference for lighter cars but insignificant for big or powerful cars. Current stock of run flats are rubbish! Avoid at all cost. The ride is hard as hell. A lot of ppl are already dumping the sub-woofer into the spare tire space. For me, the sealant is a no-no. I would rather have the spare tire back. Given the curb weight of the C3 at 1063kg, that is a significant percentage. Given the stock engine's 110bhp/147Nm performance figures (http://www.star-motoring.com/research/specs.asp?id=310), the power to weight ratio should be pretty good after that! I believe for a small compact, they rated it to have the best safety and comfort. I think some German car magazine program squared it off with the SmartforFour. The Pluriel won the comfort, space and safety categories but failed when measured in performance and braking department. Also the price tag is a big margin as the Sfor4 is really expensive. Wrong rim size is ok if u just intend to make it to the work shop. but definitely a no-no for longer distances. Two models of the C3 is available in Singapore, the 1.4L 4 speed automatic and the 1.6L SensoDrive (5 speed semi automatic). In addition, the C3 is also available with/without the panoramic sunroof. Last I checked, prices ranged from S$68K to S$77K for the different engines/options. The Pluriel is a different animal from the C3 and is even more cool! Unfortunately it is not available in Singapore. It can transform itself into the following variants: 1. Normal Saloon with roof 2. Normal Saloon with panoramic roof (e.g. looks like the Mazda 121) 3. Open top convertible/roadster (remove the entire roof and pillars) 4.
