88' Honda civic GL engine..Please Help

hello everyone...

 

Would like to seek for your kind help here....

 

I have an old 88' Honda Civic GL..but sadly engine cannot make it liao..

 

Keep overheating..even when i have change radiator..water pump and such all to new one liao...

 

thus bring down to my mech who say that engine either crack liao or something happen..cause pressure too high...radiator water keep boiling and slime keep forming in the expansion reservoir..

 

to sell will lose alot...thus was thinking of changing an old engine from malaysia..

 

Can anyone tell me where can i source for one..or they know of any workshop that knows how to get one?

I think you still can find this engine in Singapore.

Can try calling my mech if you are interested, 93847728 (Ah Seng). He's quite reliable considering that I have lots of unhappy experiences with many mechs.

Changing it should cost so much...maybe

Changing in JB may be risky but if you can get the exact model, maybe can take a risk. But make sure you get the SAME engine type installed, otherwise you have a lot of explaining to do during inspection.

Now really headache man...cannot afford 2k thus was wondering if malaysia could cut the cost by half..no choice la...

Go check your head gasket first. Should be head gasket leakage, and CO fumes is entering the waterway of your cooling system. Thats what happen to me, and now fixed. But I dunno if carb engine same as B16A bo. But can try asking first before dropping in new engine at 1.6k. 1.6k can buy Integra GSR 1.8L DOHC VTEC Engine.

maybe u let him take a look at your engine first.

He's quite frank so he'll not chop you if you don't really need to change engine like other unscruplous mech I have encountered. Rest assured.

if can save, save the engine. Otherwise, boh pian gotta change.

Hi

 

I'm driving a '89 GL.

 

So far engine no problem. Only a bit of oil leak at the engine block but never bother to fix it.

 

Engine overheat once when I drove up to Meleka. Let it cool down n drive on thatz all.

 

Hope urs small problem only.
